Xperia KitKat UI Leaked, 4K Recording, USB DAC Support And More

Sony won’t be the first manufacturer to push out KitKat to some of their handsets but if anything can be said of their efforts based off of leaked details and screenshots of the Kitkat 4.4 update for the Sony D6503 (Sirius), Sony is definitely going above and beyond.

For starters, they have one of the most plesant skins on top of Android (subjective of course) that doesn’t look cartoony or garish. On top of that though, there are quite a few features that Sony is bringing to the table such as 4K video recording, Timeshift video, USB DAC support, multiple home launchers (2: “Simple” and “Xperia”), Smart backlight control and call handling, double-tap to wake, personalization for status bar icons and notifications and plenty more. For all intents and purposes, besides the move to KitKat being pretty sizable, Sony’s own additions are definitely on the upper end of the list. It’s also worth pointing out that a decent amount of these features are actually quite useful as opposed to the spray and pray method that Samsung uses.
