Aircel Offers Free Facebook Access For 2 Months

Aircel is offering its users with free Facebook access for two months under a new scheme. Dubbed as ‘Facebook for All’, the scheme will enable its customers to be socially active on Facebook in nine different languages. Customers can have free access to Facebook Application, Facebook Messenger and Mobile version on their existing or new connections.for a period of 60 days.

“Over 75 million people access Facebook through their mobile phones in India and more than 60% of Aircel customers who have data enabled handsets consume internet on their phones. Considering this trend, the launch of ‘Facebook for all’ service is a strategic/natural step to re-iterate our commitment towards increasing data proliferation and usage of internet in the country,” said Anupam Vasudev, Chief Marketing Officer, Aircel.

Currently, ‘Facebook For All’ is present in selected states including Andhra Pradesh, Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Maharashtra. All new customers will get free 50MB per month data on FB. Post 50MB usage, the subscribers will have the option of using FB on their phones at 2 paise per 10KB. On the other hand, Aircel’s existing customers will get free 50MB data for 30 days for FB access. Post 50 MB usage, the subscribers will have the option of using Facebook on their phones at 2P/10 KB.

Yesterday, Facebook revealed that it had crossed 1 billion monthly active user mark.

Aircel has also introduced two special tariff packs for Facebook access – INR 14, and INR 5, which will give 100 MB (for 28 days) and 25MB ( for 7 days) of free Facebook usage to the consumers. Last year, the sixth largest service provider had launched a recharge app on Facebook

The company had partnered with Micromax and MediaTek to offer data benefits for Micromax devices powered by MediaTek processors. Prior to that, the telecom company teamed up with Snapdeal to offer free data for every data-enabled device purchased from the retail store for three months.
