Saavn Rolls Out Carrier Billing For Airtel and Vodafone Subscribers

Saavn has launched carrier billing for Airtel and Vodafone subscribers using its Android app. The digital music streaming service has added the support of the carrier billing on its premium service Saavn Pro and Saavn Pro Lite. Carrier billing lets users access music without paying for the service with a credit card. This means that the charges for accessing Saavn’s service is either taken from your prepaid or added to your postpaid telecom subscriber.

For those unaware, Saavn Pro and Saavn Pro Lite are both premium music streaming services from Saavn that offers ad-free music.  Announced in July last year, the service enables users to cache and save the songs and listen them offline.

Speaking about the launch of carrier billing, Paramdeep Singh, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Saavn said, “This new billing option enables millions of Saavn Android users to access our premium music experience in a quick and effortless way. Previously, Saavn Pro was available only to credit and debit card account holders, but now, anyone with an Airtel or Vodafone account can go Pro,” This first foray into operator billing is part of Saavn’s continuous efforts to build even more innovative partnerships and products that address our listeners’ needs and wants.”

Saavn Pro Lite can be accessed by Airtel and Vodafone subscribers by paying Rs 5 for a day, Rs 30 for a week and Rs 110 for a month and can save up to 3GB of songs for offline listening. While, Saavn Pro is available at Rs 220 per month and offers unlimited music on up to 5 different devices.  Times internet’s Gaana+ is a similar service that lets you access unlimited downloads for a month at Rs 170.
