Twitter Adds Photo Tagging and Multiple Photos In Single Tweet on Android and iOS

Twitter has beefed up its photo offering by adding two new features to its Android and iOS mobile apps. With the latest update,the users can now tag up to 10 people in one photo and share up to four photos in a single tweet.To tag someone, users can tap “Who’s in this photo?” and then type in the person’s username.

“Tagging people in a picture makes conversations around photos fun and easy. And tagging doesn’t affect character count in the Tweet — you can tag up to 10 people in a photo and still have all 140 characters at your disposal, making it easier to connect with your friends”, posted Twitter in the company blog. You can customize notifications and privacy options for who can tag you within the Settings page in the app or on the Web.

In addition to photo tagging, Twitter has also added the ability to add four photos in a single tweet, instead of just uploading one at a time. When you share multiple images, Twitter will automatically create a four photo mini-collage. To view a single full image, users can tap preview to see the photo and swipe to see the next. This particular feature is however live for only iPhone users but Twitter touted in the blog post that it will be live for Android in few days.

The microblogging site has been enhancing the photo experience on mobile since last year by first improving photo search and bringing photos and videos in user timeline. Soon after that Twitter allowed photo sharing via DM and earlier in January this year it added photo editing tools to Android.
