Xiaomi, the Chinese smartphone giant, announced multiple smartphones last year, and quite a few of them were launched in India. Taking this into consideration, the company has now launched the Redmi Note 4 in the Indian market. The smartphone is the successor to the Redmi Note 3, which was launched last year in India and went on to become the best-selling smartphone in the country. Essential features of the Redmi Note 4 include Snapdragon 625 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 13-megapixel camera.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: Specifications
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 features a 5.5-inch (1920×1080p) IPS LCD display with 2.5D curved glass on top of it. Under the hood, there is a Snapdragon 626 SoC with an octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 506 GPU. It is available in three variants: 2GB RAM + 32GB storage, 3GB + 32GB storage, and 4GB RAM + 64GB storage. There’s a hybrid dual-SIM card slot that is compatible with microSD cards. The Redmi Note 4 still runs on dated Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system with MIUI 8 on top of it. There is a rear-facing fingerprint scanner, similar to the one on the Redmi Note 3.
In the imaging department, the smartphone features a 13-megapixel rear-facing camera with dual-tone LED flash and 1080p video recording. It also features phase-detection autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. The front-facing selfie camera has a resolution of 5 megapixels and an aperture of f/2.0 and 85-degree wide-angle lens. Connectivity options include dual-SIM card slot (with 4G with VoLTE), dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11 ac/a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, IR port, microUSB 2.0 port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It packs the large 4,100mAh battery, similar to that we have seen in the Redmi Note 3, but the company claims that it offers 25 percent longer battery life.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 4: Pricing and Availability
The Redmi Note 4 would be available in three colours: Gold, Dark Grey, and Matte Black. The variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at $161, while the 4GB of RAM variant is priced at $190. The variant of the smartphone with 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage is priced at $161. The Redmi Note 4 will go on sale through Flipkart and Mi.com/in at 12PM on January 23.
