NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity took these images on Sol 2041 with its left Mast Camera at Vera Rubin Ridge, Gale Crater, Mars.
Red arrows point to remnants of man-made pavement. They are flat, thin, sitting on soil, lying on the same level as the soil, closely connected to each other, but rarely overlapping each other. So, they are not rocks. No rocks are naturally shaped and arranged this way. To see them clearly, click this link:

Rocks seldom form originally on soil. Igneous rocks can originally form on soil. However, those objects are not igneous rocks in view of their flat surfaces. Sedimentary rocks and metamorphic rocks cannot originally form on soil. If they could, the soil beneath them would have lithified and become rocks.

Different rocks often have different heights. Even if they have the same height, natural transportation of rocks often result in random deposition of the rocks. However, the figure above shows orderly arrangement of fractured pavement remnants. To repeat, they are just fractured parts of one large, flat pavement, not a rock or rocks that was/were originally formed here or transported from elsewhere. Moreover, many panoramas (note 1) of the ridge also show artificial arrangement of the flat material. A catastrophe tilted the pavement at its edge.

I am no scientist. There may be technical errors in my writings, but the fact is that Martians paved the ridge.
