Montelouro is a Spunky Glacier-Inspired Stand For Any Mobile Device

They may seem useless at first, but you can’t deny mobile device stands make up a rather quirky part of the consumer market. These hefty, often colorful accessories are for those who lack the extra appendages to hold their devices upright while doing something else.

The Montelouro is no exception. Crafted by Rafael Fernández Sánchez through his one-man company Oitenta, this stand sticks out from the others not just from its glacier-like appearance but though its ability to hold just about any mobile device imaginable within its crevices.

In actuality, the Montelouro gets its shape and name from a hill near a beach Rafael spent as a child. All the stands are handmade and begin production through plaster molds made from an original piece.

Once the molds dry, a ceramic mixture is added, set to a heat of 1,200 °C, and left to dry.

Finally, the stand is enameled to make sure it can hold your mobile devices without getting damaged in the process.

A finished Montelouro measures 13cm long, 9cm wide, and 6.5cm tall, taking up even less space than the mobile device you plan on setting between its icebergs. Even though the project has already been fully funded on Indiegogo, only 200 Montelouro stands will be made. Ever.
