2019 Most Expensive Gaming Computer

Most gamers are concerned with getting the most bang for their buck when they build a PC. There are plenty of ways to save a few dollars here or there when building, and getting the price of a good rig down is often a point of pride. For some, though, there’s just no point in saving money because the end price doesn’t matter.

With all of the high-end parts out there, you can spend quite a bit of money on a solid gaming rig. If you’re ignoring discounts, going after parts for name value instead of utility and generally trying to pack as much power into a single unit as possible, you can definitely start to spend some big money.

There’s big, though, and then there’s ludicrously expensive. When it comes to the latter, the most expensive gaming computer of 2019 definitely has the competition beat.

The Most Expensive Gaming Computer

Historically, building expensive PCs has really been a matter not necessarily of seeing how much money you can spend but how much of a beast you can put together if you have unlimited funds. There have been a number of off-the-shelf and custom-built models over the last few years that have topped the thirty-thousand-dollar mark, each of which could more than handle the most graphically intensive games of their day. 2019, though, has seen a huge jump in price as well as a fairly big jump in power at the same time.

8Pack is once again the manufacturer of the world’s most expensive gaming rig, pushing out their own unit from a few years back as well as a couple of custom monstrosities to regain the title. The 2019 Orion X2 is a true beast of a machine and is technically actually two networked computers working together. When you look at the specs, though, you can definitely see where all the money has gone.

At the heart of this computer is a twenty-three-hundred dollar processor. The Intel Core i9-7980XE is an 18 core beast that runs at 4.3 gigahertz. outstripping most consumer models by a significant amount. This is coupled with 128GB of DDR4 RAM, making the computer one of the most responsive on the market.

Graphical power is handled by a pair of NVIDIA RTX Titan cards, each with twenty-four gigabytes of GDDR6 VRAM. Both the primary and secondary storage are 2TB SSDs, with a backup storage of a 14TB HDD. It’s really easy to see how this one could become the most expensive gaming computer out there just based on these components alone.

There’s also a host of other bells and whistles – a custom case, and incredible cooling system, and a very burly power system. All of this would come together to create an incredibly expensive computer in and of itself, but this is actually only the primary rig – the secondary system adds in another pair of NVIDA RTX Titan cards, another 16GB of RAM, three more storage solutions, and even another i9 processor.

How much will all of this run a consumer? With all the bells and whistles included, it’s going to cost about forty-three thousand dollars – almost fifty percent more than last year’s most expensive PC. The unit is almost certainly guaranteed to not just urn this year’s most expensive games in full 4K and on their most extreme settings, but to do the same for most games that come out over the course of the next several years.

This incredibly expensive gaming PC is more a proof of concept than anything else, though, as very few gamers really need a machine with this much power. In fact, either one of the component parts is future-proof on its own, and even a machine with a fraction of the power would compete with the best consumer models available today. If you want to see what you could do with an unlimited budget, though, this is the machine to beat.
