If you are a student and are looking to learn more about investing in the stock market, these stock investing books would be of great help. Furthermore, even if you are not a budding investor and are looking to strengthen your basics and expand your knowledge, these investment books would come in pretty handy.

Once the famous investor-billionaire from Berkshire Hathaway, Warren Buffet, said that a higher IQ is not important in order to be a successful investor, what is important is the basic understanding of the investing concepts.

These basic concepts and a lot more are discussed in these investment books written by some of the greatest investors of all time. So, without any further ado, here are the best books to learn about investing that every investor should read at least once.

The Intelligent Investor

We do remember saying that you must read these stock investing books at least once, but one, written originally by Benjamin Graham, who was infamously known as the godfather of value investing, needs to be read multiple times to capture its true essence.

The Intelligent Investor was originally published back in 1949 by Ben Graham and has since been revised multiple times to keep a few things relevant. The book’s current version has added commentary by Jason Zweig, “The Wall Street Journal” columnist.

This book is by far the best book on investing ever published. It doesn’t simply offer 101 ways to make a million on the stock market, but mainly focuses on how to be rational and not fall in the traps of the market.

The Little Book of Common Sense Investing

This book was authored by none other than John C. Bogle, who, if you did not know, is the person who created the first-ever index-fund. Moreover, Bogle was very close to Warren Buffet, and the latter also endorsed his mate’s book.

Like The Intelligent Investor, this book adopts an unorthodox approach and focuses on the fact that the stock market is nothing but a lose-lose proposition for most investors. H also guides the investors on how to turn the odds in your favor

The Book on Rental Property Investing

If you are looking to invest in Rental Properties, this book is like the bible for you. It has been critically acclaimed by a lot of successful Rental Properties investors because of the “how-to” aspect of the book that makes the book an easy yet informative read for both beginners and experts.

In this book, author Brandon Turner dives into the various concepts of rental property investing and offers tips and tricks that assist the reader in making more informed decisions.

The Essays of Warren Buffet

As an investor, you must be already aware of the big-shot billionaire investor, Warren Buffet. The fourth edition of “The Essays of Warren Buffett: Lessons for Corporate America” was realized back in 2015.

It is never a bad idea to learn from the absolute best of the best. Warren Buffet, through this series of books, tends to share his insights and learnings from his own experience. He focuses mainly on the complex relationship between corporations and shareholders.

A Random Walk Down Wall Street

When we talk about the best books to learn about investing, this book by Burton G. Malkiel comes out on top. Now, most investing books on our list fulfill their purpose, but things may get pretty confusing for fresh or beginner investors while reading them.

In order to understand the various theories and learnings and apply them in real life, you must first understand what is being said. Not everyone who is a budding investor has a basic finance background, and Burton G. Malkiel understands it. His emphasis is on the long-term investing process and tries to prepare the investors for being a long-term rationale investor in the place of a speculator.

Thinking, Fast and Slow

As much as Investing is about technicalities, human and market psychology plays a great role in predicting success in the Investment world. This book is written by a psychology professor at Princeton University, Daniel Kahneman, and deals with specifically the psychological aspect of investing.

It is easily one of the best stock investing books that require a read by every budding investor.  Note that this is not an all-out investing book as it focuses on human psychology. But it does address ideas that are relevant to Investing.

The Only Investment Guide You Will Ever Need

This book stands true to its name as if you are looking to strengthen your basics, it won’t disappoint. It has also been around for over 40 years, but this is more good than bad. Yes, it is pretty old, but the content is regularly updated to be in line with the ongoing economy and trends. It was last updated as recently as 2016.

The best thing about this comprehensive book is that it focuses not only on wealthy and large investors but also on tips to newer investors on how to get started.

Security Analysis

Benjamin Graham, the revolutionary author of the best investment book, The Intelligent Investor, also wrote this book back in 1934. This is a technical book that is directed mostly towards professional retail or institutional investor.

The tips and guidance provided by Ben Graham through this book are still relevant. Even a lifelong student of the author, Warren Buffet, has admitted multiple times that he still uses the book’s learnings for analysis securities.

One Up on Wall Street

This book by the star wealth manager, Peter Lynch focuses on the fact that new investors cannot make gains in the stock market, but can also excel just by using the knowledge they already have. Lynch expresses that sound investment opportunities are everywhere, and all you need to do is look properly. It is a very insightful investment book that every beginner must-read.

Rich Dad Poor Dad

Despite being published 20 years ago, this book by the author Robert Kiyosaki remains nothing short of a gem for young readers. It focuses on the importance of financial literacy over anything else. Robert explains the common mistakes made by people that hinder them from getting rich. He also rubbishes the various common excuses people make for not being rich.

Conclusion

Stock investing is not as difficult as some people may assume it to be. If some basic principles and fundamentals are adhered to without being irrational, it is actually a pretty swift way to wealth. The key is to learn and read. The books mentioned here are, in our opinion, the best books to learn about investing even if you are a beginner.

Good list! Thanks for sharing. I know several books from this list and even read some of them. For those who don’t have experience in investment, I highly recommend to read them. Also many useful information you can find online now, for example I often visit https://www.investorgreg.net/ site, this is my favorite financial portal!
