NASA’s Mars rover Curiosity acquired this image using its Mars Hand Lens Imager (MAHLI), on January 5, 2021, Sol 2992. Red arrow and white arrow point to circular pits bored by microbes on Mars (note 1). Yellow arrows point to ooids on Mars (notes 2, 3, 4). Blue arrows point to ooids that expose their nuclei.
