Ram Introduces ProMaster Electric Van

Ram Truck has introduced the brand’s first battery-electric vehicle, the ProMaster EV. Targeting a range of up to 162 miles in the city from its 110 kWh battery pack, the van aims for commercial buyers in urban areas. Both delivery and cargo models with a 12-foot and 13-foot cargo length.

Designed specifically for electrification, the Ram ProMaster shares the same architecture as the standard combustion-powered ProMaster vans. The batteries are positioned under the floor down the vehicle’s center, between axles, and thus changes none of the body or loading floor aspects of the ProMaster. This allows specialty fitments and other aftermarket mission-specific add-ons designed for the standard models to also fit the EV.

Payload for the Ram ProMaster EV is up to 3,020 pounds in the cargo model and 2,030 pounds in the delivery configuration. The drive module/motor offers 268 horsepower and 302 pound-feet of torque in front-wheel drive.

The Ram ProMaster EV features Level 3 DC fast charging options of 50kW, 85kW, 125 kW and 150 kW. A wall box charger (Level 2) with up to 11 kW is available from Ram Truck. The charge port illuminates while the vehicle is charging with an audible sound alert to confirm the connection, simplifying charging operations for fleets. Other fleet management features designed to work with service partners are also integrated.

Other safety and security equipment, found on current-generation Ram ProMaster vans, such as both white noise and standard backup beeps, last-mile telematics and options, reverse and forward parking sensors, and more are all available on the ProMaster EV as well.
