Dodge Debuts All-New, All-Electric Dodge Charger Muscle Car

The new Dodge Charger was unveiled as the electrified future for the company. The Charger takes on its previous two-door design from the 1970s and its overall look relies heavily on the late 1960s models. Performance numbers are touted at 670 horsepower and a 3.3-second 0-60 mph sprint. That’s using the PowerShot feature, a short burst of higher power output for speed.
The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona will have a Scat Pack option to improve quarter mile sprint times to as low as 11.5 seconds. A more street-friendly R/T model will also be offered. The new Charger also showcases Dodge’s new STLA Large platform upon which future electrified and high-performance models will be designed.
And, in an effort to appease the traditionalists, the Dodge Charger has a (patent-pending) Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system to produce V8-like sounds. Brembo brakes and very large 305 and 325 tire sets are also featured on the new Charger.
The 2024 Dodge Charger models will feature a host of drive modes, capabilities, aerodynamics options, and more to appeal to the sport car crowd. Dodge has also promised a future lineup with internal combustion engine options using a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged inline six “Hurricane” engine, to be called “SIXPACK.”
Production for the two-door coupe electric models begins at Dodge’s Windsor (Ontario, Canada) plant with EV models arriving at dealerships for pre-order fulfilment soon. The Charger SIXPACK H.O models are slated to begin production mid-year 2024.
