Screwing Around Today

% of readers think this story is Fact. Add your two cents.

I’m procrastinating again.  I’ve had the oils for a batch of soap sitting in the pot, waiting, for the last 3 days.  So, I measured out the lye and just went ahead.

20 minutes of stirring the milk/lye and into the heated oils for another step of the soap making process.

With my pvc pipes I use as a circular mold full, the soap I will use around the house got set in some plastic bowls laying around in the cupboard.

I have been putting this project off for a couple months.  I’m on my last bar of soap and it’s getting a bit thin and here I am procrastinating.  LOL  I can always seem to find something to piddle on instead of making soap.  It’s not like soap is hard to make once you get the hang of it.  The milk has been sitting in the freezer for the last 6 months, taking up space.  Since the big freezer burned up, it’s not like I have an abundance of space to just waste.  Maybe, if I can talk myself into it, when this batch comes out of the molds in a couple days, I will use up the other half gallon of frozen milk for a batch.

I tried to nap yesterday afternoon.  The busy days here and then the lack of sleep to make the 4am wake up call for the farmers market always burns me up for the day.
The dogs kept wallowing me so no nap.  I cleared a little in the garden for the next crops but I sweated too much for my liking so I push mowed some weeds in the yard until dark.

As I was sipping some coffee, I got a wild hair and took some seed potatoes out and set another tire full for a fall crop.  Now comes the wait to see if they will grow.  I don’t always have good luck with the fall crops starting up and going.  I set a second tire on the seed tater tire, set a piece of cattle panel to keep Sissy goat from standing in it and put a third up to protect the panel.  I started my spring crop this way too and it went fine until Sissy figured out how to push the panels in I surrounded the tires with.  I will have to come up with something to prevent her from eating the tops off this batch if it goes.

The short crop corn (65 day) hasn’t sprouted yet.  I’m always so impatient, LOL  Now that’s it’s raining again, it shouldn’t be too long and I think my chances for a successful harvest are decent.  At least better than earlier this year, LOL

Oh, LOL, I’ve been kind of arguing on facebook, ( I know what you’re going to say, LOL) but sometimes I can’t help it!  It usually ends up being a battle of wits with and unarmed opponent and I should just keep my mouth shut because most folks just don’t “get it” but my alpha personality needs fed every now and then.  They always want to use someone elses opinion to prove their point instead of standing on their own original thoughts and experiences.  How can one resist that?

Well, off to go do something around the farm.  I haven’t a clue what yet since there’s so much that needs done…….
