Cookware! A Big Question!
Hello Folks!
I have been travelling the road of the marriage of cookware for the normal everyday ritual of making meals, and have been slowly pondering on this question.
Can “X” Cookware Be Used As ‘Emergency Cookware’, as living in Hurricane Country?
When I moved to my present ‘compound location’, in the swamps of Montana, I saw one of those cable shopping shows, and bought some ‘Techneek’ cookware. After a short while, the teflon inside the pans had a little chip, and the coloring on the outside was wearing off!
Ok, back to the whiteboard!
Someone was upgrading their cookware, so i ‘inherited’ some tstainless steel with those thick padded bottom pans. Those pads made my cooking times all wrong, and showed me some hotspots in the pans, too. I had the maintenance guy check the stove to see that the burners were not the problem, and they were not.

A friend and I went to a local chain rustic-tools-hanging-everywhere-with-rockers-outside restaurant, and was inspired to look into USA-made cast iron cookware. With research accomplished, i bought a chef’s pan and a frying pan, just sized for my big burner. I do know that cast iron is more versatile than all that stuff i have had, already. Two pans for the Plan!
But wait! No tomatoes? No Rice-A-Roni? No spaghetti stuff? What???

I landed two stainless steel multi-ply pans! (Angels singing)
Now, i have the pans necessary to do all of my style of cooking, with both the power on, and the power off! Pots, you say? SPECKLEWARE!!
