Grease… yes, I’ve used it in an emergency before. We were duck hunting in a camp way out in the marsh and ran out of propane for heat. We used a pan with grease and a wick of cloth and made a grease “heater” so we wouldn’t freeze that night with temps in the teens.
We woke up the next morning and when we looked at each other, we all looked like we put on “black face” make-up! The soot from the fire had drifted down and coated all of our faces during the night. We laughed till we were hurting. It was hilarious.
