We are told above that today we have robots on Mars. I have the deepest doubts about this. Alien life is a guarentee, there are billions of planets within untold billions of galaxies. The basics for life requirements are few. We have recorded bacteria and viruses in comets, our own bacteria and even tiny creatures such as water bears can live in the vacuum of space, in fact they even bred in the vacuum of space.
How many inteligent alien life forms are there, is a different question all together. Any alien civilsation able to travel the vast distances of the universe, would be so far in advance of our puny technological discoveries, I doubt we’d even know they were here.
