How can an entire planet be covered in concrete?
It does look like some old concrete but so does dry packed clay.
In the deserts of Arizona there are structures like the pictures you show. In Arizona is is dry packed clay that looks like concrete and is hard like concrete. papaya is another dirt clay mixture that looks grey.
I have also noticed that on dirt roads the clay gets packed to a concrete like solidness. I am thinking that in a water free environment that has wind hundreds of miles an hour, there must be a chance for the dirt and sand to blow away. Thus exposing the more packed media. That is further packed by high winds and heat.
