Swiss Space Systems to Offer Inexpensive ZeroG Experience

Firm Plans a ‘World Tour’ of ZeroG Flights in 2015

PAYERNE, Switzerland — Swiss Space Systems – S3 – a private commercial space company, has designed a S3 ZeroG product to offer space-like sensations at affordable cost, and a platform for research and technology activities.

Zero gravity “missions” are parabolic flights conducted by an aircraft to create a weightless environment. S3 states they will offer ZeroG, LunarG and Martian-G environments, among others.

S3 will soon unveil its newest generation ZeroG Airbus aircraft, and initiate a World Tour in 2015. S3 will offer citizens and research entities of many countries the opportunity to experience ZeroG. Visiting over 15 countries in Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Europe and the Americas in 2015, S3 ZeroG will tour the globe, with 2 to 6 flights in each location.

With 15 parabolas of around 20 seconds each, over a 90-minute flight period, participants will experience a floating sensation as if in a spaceship. Up to 80 participants per flight will be in a 3-class configuration: VIP, Premium and Party. Low rates starting at EUR 1,990 (US 2,750) make this the world’s most affordable ZeroG experience. VIP and Premium passengers will receive an exclusive Breitling timepiece, branded S3 ZeroG. The company says to expect more promotional announcements.

S3 states it is aiming to disrupt the aerospace industry by offering affordable, recurrent and responsive space access. The company has established a US subsidiary, S3 USA, located in Georgetown, Washington, D.C. and has signed a memo of understanding with Spaceport Colorado. It is in talks with Kennedy Space Center and other key locations.
