Two GIANT Sunspots Facing  Earth & One of the Larger Eruptive Events in the Current Solar Cycle

Stellar Eruption

A large eruption of plasma was observed this morning off the southeast limb. Below is a fantastic video courtesy of NASA Solar Dynamics Observatory (Little SDO) showing a massive quantity of plasma lifting off of the sun, making this one of the larger eruptive events of the current solar cycle. An impressive coronal mass ejection (CME) is visible across all of the latest coronagraph imagery, but so far appears to be headed away from our planet. The source of this event is an active, flare producing region that will begin to show itself starting this weekend  http://www.solarham.net/
