Comet C/2014 Q2 (Lovejoy) through telescope.

This is my first Comet photographed by me through a telescope, called comet C / 2014 Q2(Lovejoy).
It was a revelation for me to find it among the stars because through the eyes looks like a white blemish, but with camera set to long exposure, it’s a different story. Its color becomes more prominent, a greenish one surrounded by a circular aura. I have set the camera to different exposures and ISO. I’m sure I can also shoot the comet with a video camera and the next time I’ll do this.
Now that I managed to photograph my first comet will begin to hunt more to come.

The comet tonight formed a triangle shape with the Pleiades and Aldebaran star. So I was able to find it much easier in the sky.

C / 2014 Q2 (Lovejoy) is a long period comet. It was discovered on 17 August 2014 by Terry Lovejoy using an 8 “Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope. When it was discovered, had a magnitude 15 and was located south of the constellation Puppis. This is the fifth comet discovered by Terry Lovejoy.
So Terry discovered a comet helped by a telescope the same size as mine, but certainly with a GPS tracking motor drive. Until this discovery, I thought no one could detect a comet with a telescope mirror size of 8 “(203 mm), but here it is, it is possible.

In December 2014, the comet increased in brightness to magnitude 7.4, almost making it a target for small telescopes or binoculars.

It will reach the closest point to the Sun (perihelion) on January 30, 2015, at a distance of 1.29 AU (193,000,000 km) from the Sun.
