Solar Storm Warning: Strong (G3) Geomagnetic Storm Watch Issued / S2 (Moderate) Radiation Storm June 22 UPDATE (+Video)

Radiation Storm: Low energy proton levels continue to gradually climb higher and is approaching the moderate (S2) radiation storm threshold. This could have somewhat of an impact on HF radio propagation through the polar regions. Further enhancement will be possible as an expected CME shock front approaches our planet. http://www.solarham.net/

S2 (Moderate) Solar Radiation Storm Impacts 

Biological: Passengers and crew in high-flying aircraft at high latitudes may be exposed to elevated radiation risk.
Satellite operations: Infrequent single-event upsets possible.

STRIKE 3! A THIRD CME RAISES WATCH TO G3 LEVEL FOR 22 JUNE
A third, much faster coronal mass ejection (CME) is expected to catch up with the two observed on 18 and 19 June bringing them all to Earth in close succession by the UTC day of 22 June 2015. 

The CME was associated with an R1-Minor flare event observed at 0142 UTC (9:21 pm ET) from Sunspot Region 12371 located near center disk.

A G3-Strong Geomagnetic Storm Watch has been issued for 22 June as well as a G2-Moderate Watch for 23 June as the CMEs make their way past Earth.
 These Watches supersede all prior forecasts.

G3 (Strong) Geomagnetic Storm Impacts

Power systems: Voltage corrections may be required, false alarms triggered on some protection devices.
Spacecraft operations: Surface charging may occur on satellite components, drag may increase on low-Earth-orbit satellites, and corrections may be needed for orientation problems.
Other systems: Intermittent satellite navigation and low-frequency radio navigation problems may occur, HF radio may be intermittent, and aurora has been seen as low as Illinois and Oregon (typically 50° geomagnetic lat.).

Solar Storm Update: Severe Geomagnetic Storming / Aurora Warning – June 23, 2015

GEOMAGNETIC STORMING REACHES G4 (SEVERE) LEVELS 
On Tuesday Morning

The geomagnetic storm that began on 22 June has reached G4 (Severe) levels once again as of 0513 UTC (0113 EDT) on 23 June.

Solar wind conditions remain highly favorable for continued Strong Geomagnetic storming, with both fast solar wind and strong magnetic fields.  Solar Wind Speed: 664 km/sec 
Aurora watchers in North America, especially northern tier states of the US, should stay alert.

ANOTHER STORM FORECAST FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT/THURSDAY
