Ground Breaking Video Explains Exactly Why the Sun Isn’t Yellow Anymore

Isn’t it about time someone mentioned that big white elephant in the sky?

Many people forget that the mixing of colored light is not the same thing as the mixing of colors themselves. Most stage and theater people know that when you mix blue light with yellow light the net effect is white light. Once we all start at this factual “first step” the rest of the pieces of the puzzle seem to fall into place.

So if there was an increase in blue light in the Sun or solar corona the net effect would be white light which by definition would be increased solar irradiance. Logic dictates if you add additional light to an existing light you simply get more light. So what can cause an increase in blue light? As the video below will explain not too many things.

Another correlating factor in physics that cannot be ignored is the overall temperature of the corona itself. Where simply an increase in heat (no matter the cause) will also change the visible light. And finally, one thing that cannot be ignored is all that white haze that did not used to be there. Some people claim that layer acts as a filter turning the Sun white. And that may partially be true but as the video points out any filter in front of a light source would have a dimming effect.
