Space and Quakes

Asteroids: There are two asteroids under 10LD (lunar distance) for August at this time. They will pass Earth at a distance of 5.26LD on August 3rd and 8.39 on August 7th.

Solar Winds: A CME (Coronal Mass Ejection) is expected to hit Earth today causing geomagnetic storms. This will be followed by a stream of solar wind tomorrow that could boost storm levels to a G2 class storms. Geomagnetic storms are disturbances in Earth’s magnetic field. There are different categories (G1 through G5) of storms, with G4 and G5 being the only ones that can cause grid problems.

Sunspots: Small and quiet sunspot AR2570 is the only one on the solar disk at this time.

Meteor Showers: The Perseid meteor shower should peak on August 11–13, with as many as 200 per hour.

Earthquakes: There has been 9 quakes of 4+ and 2 quakes of 5+ magnitude in the last 12 hours.
