Steele Dossier Russian Source Revealed – The PRISM Files

It is believed that Christopher Steele’s Russian sources provided him with disinformation as they were directed to do by the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation (SVR RF).

Boris Vyacheslavovich Gryzlov is a strong canidate for being the the Former Russian intelligence officer source referenced in Steele’s the dossier.

Gryzlov resides in Saint Petersburg Russia, where it is thought that Steele gathered most of the information used for his dossier. Gryzlov has had a long career working in the Russian intelligence community. He was also the Speaker of Russia’s State Duma (the lower house of parliament) from 29 December 2003 to 14 December 2011.

It appears that the SVR RF took advantage of the opportunity that Christopher Steele’s dossier offered them. According to Steele, his sources for the dossier included a Russian Foreign Ministry figure, a former top level intelligence officer and an ethnic Russian.

Russia has been actively engaged in Political Warfare Active measures since the cold war. These Active measures are part of Russia’s tactics aimed at, according to Former Russian Major General Oleg Kalugin, “sowing discord among allies, to weaken the United States…and thus to prepare ground in case the war really occurs.”

FACT: The Russian government leveraged their spy network to sow political discord in the United States by providing disinformation to Christopher Steele for his dossier. 

In the dossier, Steele writes, “Trump “and his inner circle have accepted a regular flow of intelligence from the Kremlin, including on his Democratic and other political rivals”.

It claimed that Russian intelligence had “compromised” Trump during his visits to Moscow and could “blackmail him”. It also reported that Russian intelligence had compiled a dossier on Hillary Clinton based on “bugged conversations she had on various visits to Russia and intercepted phone calls”.

These statements are consistent with the Foreign Intelligence Service of the Russian Federation’s Political Warfare Active measures doctrine. All information provided by Steele’s Russian sources was completely fabricated by Boris Gryzlov and his foreign intelligence counterparts.

The effects of the SVR RF in the United States are quite evident. It has created a political divide like no other in U.S. history.

Conclusion: This is a time of information warfare. Russia will continue to use all means available to disrupt and undermine the U.S. political process.

A review of the dossier’s creation:

This dossier was written between June and December 2016 by a Christopher Steele in two separate phases.

During this time, Steele worked for Fusion GPS. Steele was a former head of the Russian Desk for British Intelligence (MI6) from 1987 until his retirement in 2009. Now retired, he is the founding director of Orbis Business Intelligence, a London-based private intelligence firm. He graduated from Cambridge University with a degree in Social and Political Sciences in 1986.

The first research phase, from October 2015 to May 2016, was funded by The Washington Free Beacon but soon after Trump secured the nomination for President, the Washington Free Beacon discontinued its funding of the dossier.

Shortly after the Washington Free Beacon discontinued its funding of the dossier, Fusion GPS was “indirectly” hired on behalf of Clinton’s campaign and the D.N.C. through their law firm, Perkins Coie to continue its research and complete the dossier on Trump.

Fusion GPS then sought out the services of Orbis between June and November 2016. During this time, Steele produced 16 memos, with a 17th memo added in December. Perkins Coie paid Fusion GPS $1.02 million in fees and expenses, $168,000 of which was paid to Orbis by Fusion GPS and used by them to produce the dossier. This second phase took place from June 2016 to December 2016.

Senator McCain learned about the dossier’s contents from Sir Andrew Wood, British ambassador to Moscow from 1995 to 2000 while attending a Canada security conference during the time of the US election. Soon afterwards, McCain obtained the dossier and admitted to providing it to the Director of the FBI (James Comey) detailing claims of a Russian blackmail plot against President-elect Donald Trump.

Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid Fusion GPS $1.02 million in fees and expenses to compile the dossier’s information obtained from three non-credible Russian sources. Fusion GPD pocketed around 800K for its part and Christopher Steele earned around $168 thousand for his.

Who is Fusion GPS?

Fusion GPS is private based in Washington, DC that according to their website, “provides premium research, strategic intelligence, and due diligence services to corporations, law firms, and investors worldwide.”

- Fusion GPS’s co-owners are Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch.

– Glenn R. Simpson (born 1964/1965) is an American former journalist who worked for The Wall Street Journal until 2009, and then co-founded the Washington-based research business Fusion GPS.

– Peter Fritsch is a partner at Fusion GPS, a commercial research firm located in Washington DC. Previously, he spent 15 years at The Wall Street Journal, serving as bureau chief in Mexico, Brazil, South and Southeast Asia and Northern Europe. His last post was as the DC’s bureau’s national security editor.

* Fusion GPS was once hired by Democrats in 2012 to do opposition research on U.S. presidential candidate Mitt Romney.

* Sir Andrew Wood has served on the boards or executive councils of several institutions, including the Russo-British Chamber of Commerce (RBCC). If he is so concerned about the Russians then why did he, promote, facilitate and support business between Russia and the UK. The Russo-British Chamber of Commerce is independent of government in both countries and is funded by membership fees and event and publication sponsorship.
