Apostle Paul’s Gospel vs. Jesus’ Gospel
I am a truth seeker plain and simple. I love Yeshua, and I follow Yeshua who walked among men, chose 12 to teach and anoint as Apostles. Yeshua brought light to a dark world, and he is the living word of God. What word were they talking about though? When Yeshua walked this earth, the only word of God given was the Tanakh or what most Christians know as the Old Testament. Words mean things, and most can say “Old Testament” and not really think about what that means. The Old Covenant and the New Covenant are what? Are they substantively different or are they the same?
Did God tell us about it prior to Jesus / Yeshua’s coming to us? Yes, He did.
Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Note, God sees Israel and Judah as separate. Nonetheless; God will make a NEW COVENANT with both. Jesus said, he came for the LOST SHEEP OF THE HOUSE OF ISRAEL. JUDAH HAS NEVER AND WILL NEVER BE LOST! Israel got a divorce and most members of that house have no clue they are Israel. Judah, the Jews (NOT THE Imposter KENITES pretending to be Jews mixed in the our poor brother Judah who gets blamed for all the KENITE activities…. I almost feel like golam and smeagol of Lord of the rings whenever I hear people talk negatively about Judah our Jewish brothers and sisters who have KEPT the word / Tanach and carried it forward for hundreds and thousands of years while we whored with other gods… see there I go again, golam and smeagol… I digress, sorry) I will simply add this, had Judah accepted Yeshua the suffering Messiah Ben Yoseph when he first came 2000 years ago, we would not have had a chance at salvation. The Kenites killed Yeshua to shut him up. Ok, let’s go on now with this Covenant business.
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
DO YOU GET THAT? IT’S KEY to understanding the rest of what I am going to share with you. THE NEW COVENANT IS THE LAW…. WHAT? IT’S THE LAW …. LET ME SAY IT AGAIN, THE LAW OF GOD WRITTEN ON OUR HEARTS!
Now, I have asked you before, do you have a heart of stone or a heart of flesh? If you have a heart of stone you cannot embrace this covenant for it will feel like rules, regulations, do this and don’t do that, nag nag nag nag nag nag nag, yawn…. Oh, I know it’s so tedious to keep the law when it’s on stone and not part of your very being. Let me ask you men this question. This will only work if you have ever truly been in love. If you have ever really been in love, was it a chore for you to do things to please your hearts desire? Did it seem like a curse to run and open the door or carry in a heavy bag, change a light bulb, mow the lawn or bring them breakfast in bed with a rose and write love letters when apart? Was it a chore to talk on the phone and spend time with that object of your incredible love and desire? When you fell in love, in that state of incredible knowing this was the one whom God made for you, did you even think of running after that girl who trotted by batting her eyelashes at you ? Were you tempted in the least to hurt them? Why not? It’s simple, your heart was single. Your eye was single. You were in LOVE.
That is what the New Covenant is. When you love someone you don’t have to be told to not hurt them, to do loving things, to be kind to them, to do what is right, to lay your life down for them. There is no greater love than that my friends, and that is sacred love. It’s not just between a husband and wife. Sacred love is spiritually pure and comes from a place that is self sacrificing. I guarantee you that our divorce rates would be 0% if we loved each other like this. Self sacrificing is not just taking a bullet for someone or stepping into an oncoming train. It’s the little things that you have to make decisions regarding, and those decisions tell your lover that they are above in all ways your self seeking desires. You want the best for them no matter what, and nothing will come between you helping them achieve that. Not a football game when she needs help getting the children ready for bed, not a tv program when he needs a hand, nothing comes above it, and it’s not a sacrifice, it’s done out of love!
This is the same as the New Covenant written on our hearts. It is not a painful thing that we bemoan about giving up something, we just no longer want to do things that are displeasing to God. It’s like we become a new person, and God promised to do that for us, we become a new man / woman. The old things pass away, and all things become new to us. The law of God does not seem harsh or limiting when it’s written on our hearts of flesh.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.
There, Jeremiah said or shared what God said to and through him in one sentence what took me three paragraphs to share! God’s word is so simply beautiful my friends. When the law of God is written on your heart, you know right from wrong because it’s either loving or not loving, and Jesus / Yeshua summed up all of the law in one commandment:
Mat 22:36 Master, which is the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
Did Yeshua say they negate the law and prophecies? Did Yeshua even imply the law was dead? Did He even hint that it’s ok to do whatever you want now as long as you do it in a loving way and mean well? No, he said, if you love God you will keep all of the laws. Now, I don’t want to hear anything about sacrificial laws, because we know that Jesus is a living sacrifice for one and all time, and in following him, we are fulfilling that law. It’s the precepts and statutes not the blood ordinances we struggle with today unless they are written on our hearts. Can you lie easily? Can you steal easily? Can you gossip easily? Can you covet with ease? What is coveting?
We have a huge problem with it here in America. The whole wanting to redistribute the things others have worked for is coveting. We are programmed to constantly crave things we don’t have and we wonder why we are not blessed and feeling God’s presence or by now don’t even care if God has a presence, just get that new job and shiny new car, and new house, and better clothes, and blame those who have them and you don’t. Yes, anyone who gets you to be angry over someone having blessings is encouraging you to covet and trying to put a wedge even deeper between you and God.
Are the precepts, ordinances and statues different from the commandments of God? My brothers and sisters, please understand, I am not putting a yoke of punishment upon you. I am speaking about truth, love, and a heart of flesh, and when God writes that law upon your heart, what does that mean? Is your heart single or divided? Has someone else captured your attention? Have you left your first love? Remember, when in love things are easy to do, that amazingly later we see slipping away in marriages that become burdened down with the cares of this world.
Please read Psalm 119 in it’s entirety, it’s a long one, but meditate upon it. Here is a portion and I pray God touch you who love him as these words enter your mind and heart once again:
Psa 119:10 With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.
Psa 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Psa 119:12 Blessed art thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes.
Psa 119:13 With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth.
Psa 119:14 I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as much as in all riches.
Psa 119:15 I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways.
Psa 119:16 I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word.
Psa 119:17 GIMEL. Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word.
Psa 119:18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
Psa 119:19 I am a stranger in the earth: hide not thy commandments from me.
Psa 119:20 My soul breaketh for the longing that it hath unto thy judgments at all times.
Psa 119:21 Thou hast rebuked the proud that are cursed, which do err from thy commandments.
Psa 119:22 Remove from me reproach and contempt; for I have kept thy testimonies.
Psa 119:23 Princes also did sit and speak against me: but thy servant did meditate in thy statutes.
Psa 119:24 Thy testimonies also are my delight and my counsellors.
Are the 10 Commandments different from the Statutes, Precepts or Ordinances of the Lord?
What did Yeshua say?
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
Mat 19:18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
Mat 19:19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Mat 19:20 The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet?
Your heart knows the truth. This young man said, “I have done all that, but I still lack” He knew he was missing something and I submit to you, it was love. He did not grasp the loving relationship with God and his neighbor that can only happen when our hearts change. Yeshua understood this.
Mat 19:21 Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.
Yeshua knew what was first in the young man’s heart. He knew the young man valued his things and possessions above God. Do you? I do not believe it is a mandate to serve God and prove your love by giving all you have away, but if you cannot part with something to help someone in need whom God has put in your path to help, then you have a problem my friend. It could be your time, your precious anything…. ah that word precious… I don’t know why Golam and Smeagol from Lord of the Rings (LOTR) is coming up over and over, it must be something I need to look at. The dual nature of man maybe. He fell in love with the ring of power. It was precious unto him, and it destroyed him. Is there anything more important to you than serving God? Does your heart cry out, “Hineni” or “Here and I send me” to God? Or does it say, “Oh dear God, please don’t pick me to serve on that board, I have a golf tournament or trip I’ve been planning”. My example might not be the best, but I think you can fill in the blanks. I think we’ve all been guilty of it, I know I have. I have excuses galore. I’m too busy, I don’t have time, I have four children, I can’t afford……. I can hear them all now. What a terrible blessing I missed out on by not heeding the call of God to help. I will never know now what I could have learned or whom I could have known when I have been selfish.
That was one mitsvah lesson I learned in my time with my Messianic Rabbi in South Florida. When you have a chance to help someone, it’s a blessing coming your way! People in their pride might not want to accept your gift of kindness, but in reality they are doing you a favor by accepting your heartfelt kindness for in each moment of giving we earn the greater blessing, and we know the heart of God even more. It’s for those missed moments I repented and asked forgiveness not long ago. I know God smiled, and He’s not done with me which I am thankful of now. Yeshua spoke the truth to the young man, and what did he do?
Mat 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.
Mat 19:23 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven.
I like the way my Jewish New Testament words vs 23 better:
Mat 19:23 Then Yeshua said to his talmidim, “Yes. I tell you that it will be very hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
Mat 19:24 And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
If you don’t know what the eye of the needle is, it refers to the sheep gate that is small, and after the city gates were shut, if you came up and wanted in and you had a camel, then you had to get them to enter through the sheep’s gate which meant removing all the goods the camel was carrying, having them get on their knees and crawl inch by inch with their head bowed down low until they were through the little hole made for sheep. Do you see the divine wisdom in Yeshua sharing that?
Look at the wealthy with all their stuff. You cannot take it with you, but would you give it up if God asked you to do so? Would you sell all you had and share with your community in a spirit of love and unity if God put it on your heart? The camel had to be unburdened, then in a humble spirit crawl through the gate, and bow down. How many wealthy people can you picture doing this. Can you picture the Queen of England dropping all her earthly treasures, to come before God humbly on her knees with her head bowed down? Can you picture any of our self righteous leaders of industry, government, the church truly acting in such a manner? How about our sports hero’s and actors who love to tell us what to do when they get on tv and go before congress espousing this idea or that idea of living simply and green technology. Al Gore comes to mind with his many mansions, jets, limousines telling us we need to lower our carbon foot print. I do believe Yeshua called them hypocrites, white washed tombs, snakes, den of vipers who preach and love to sit in the best seats, but do not live according to the truth.
Mat 19:25 When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved?
Mat 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.
Mat 19:27 Then answered Peter and said unto him, Behold, we have forsaken all, and followed thee; what shall we have therefore?
Mat 19:28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
Wait a minute, did he say twelve thrones? Do you think for a moment that Yeshua has limited understanding and wisdom? He said, they would sit upon twelve thrones judging the twelve tribes of Israel! There is a breadcrumb folks. Tuck it away for now.
Mat 19:29 And every one that hath forsaken houses, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my name’s sake, shall receive an hundredfold, and shall inherit everlasting life.
This verse is very much linked to another which often gets misunderstood.
Luk 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
Luk 14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
Many a family has been destroyed by ignorance in regards to these verses. What is that word “Hate”. It does not mean abandon or be angry with family. Let’s look it up in our Strong’s Concordance:

From a primary word μῖσος misos (hatred); to detest (especially to persecute); by extension to love less: – hate (-ful).
In all things, God comes first. You cannot put anything before doing the will of God. Now, the trick is to know the will of God verses what you want or what some would try to get you to believe. Does it line up with the word of God. Does it’s fruit bear out to be of God? Is it life affirming? Think of the legalistic Jews who would rather let a donkey die in a ditch than rescue it on sabbath because that would be work. Yeshua castigated that sort of thinking. Life comes first. Helping one another comes first.
I want you to understand that in ancient Israel, the law was everything. Keeping the law was all the good men and women of Israel wanted, and the spiritual system reinforced it to such a degree that they put what was called a “fence” around the Law. It goes something like this. If God said, you can only walk 1 mile a day, then if we say you can only walk a 1/2 a mile a day you will never break God’s commandment! I am being facetious about that rule in order to make my point. They actually had extra things put on them so they would NOT break an actual commandment of God. Eventually, mercy was lost and just being obedient was what mattered, and the spirit was no where to be seen or felt. Yeshua, stripped away the nonsense.
What is a disciple? What do disciples do?

A student learns from their teacher and carries forth that teaching and example. What did Yeshua teach? He taught to obey God and to keep His commandments. He kept the Feasts of the Lord. He even kept Hanukkah, and that is evident when the bible says,
Joh 10:22 And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.
Joh 10:23 And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon’s porch.
Lev 23:1 And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
Lev 23:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.
Lev 23:3 Six days shall work be done: but the seventh day is the sabbath of rest, an holy convocation; ye shall do no work therein: it is the sabbath of the LORD in all your dwellings.
Lev 23:4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.From: Appointed Times – Keeping the Feasts of the LORD
Passover:
- Freedom from the judgment upon the firstborn of Egypt
- Freedom from the power of sin (Jesus the Passover Lamb)
- Freedom from the judgment of this world in the “last days”
Unleavened Bread:
- Celebrates the unleavened bread that the Israelites made and ate after they were delivered from Egypt.
- Celebrates the sinless life of Jesus the Christ.
- Celebrates our lives as new creations, acceptable unto God after receiving salvation through Jesus the Christ.
Early FirstFruits:
- Celebrates God giving the land to Israel and the harvest to come
- Celebrates the first-born from the dead (Jesus who rose from the dead)
- Celebrates the harvest of the sons of God
Feast of Weeks:
- Celebrates the giving of the Torah by YHVH (God) on Mount Sinai
- Celebrates Jesus giving His Holy Spirit to the believers on the day of Pentecost when they spoke with other tongues
- Celebrates Jesus giving us His Holy Spirit and writing His laws upon our hearts
Feast of Trumpets:
- Celebrates the creation of the world, the new year, and calls attention to the Day of Atonement
- Celebrates the birth of Jesus
- Looks forward to the second coming of Jesus when He will return with the sound of the trumpet (shofar) and when He descends to set up His kingdom here on earth
Day of Atonement:
- A fast that commemorates the cleansing from sin, also known as “the Day of Redemption”
- Commemorates the circumcision of Jesus
- Commemorates our sins being removed as far as the east is from the west
- Looks forward to the final judgment of Jesus
Feast of Tabernacles:
- Celebrates the Israelites living in booths in the wilderness (after God delivered them from Egypt) and Him dwelling among them
- Celebrates Jesus living here among us when He lived on the earth
- Looks forward to Jesus’ millennial reign here on earth
Therefore, when a Christian questions whether or not they are required to keep the Feasts of the LORD, or wonders if they should or should not, it is no different than being an American and celebrating American holidays. It is no different than being married – having an anniversary, and celebrating it with dinner and gifts. It is no different than celebrating the birthday of a loved one with a party and gifts. It is no different than honoring our mothers and fathers on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day.
Therefore, how much more important and special, as Christians, is celebrating those special times that God Himself has given us.Side Note: (In case your argument is that you are not Jewish and need not keep or celebrate God’s appointed times):
John 12.20 And there were certain Greeks among them that came up to worship at the feast (Passover)…
Also, in the following scripture we see King Hezekiah leading the people into acts of repentance and obedience to the commandments of the LORD specifically in regards to keeping the feasts of the LORD. We see not only physical/the literal people of Israel celebrating, but we also see the strangers that were in the land celebrating. And they were so blessed that their prayers went up to heaven:
2 Chronicles 30.18-27
For a multitude of the people, even many of Ephraim, and Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet did they eat the passover otherwise than it was written. But Hezekiah prayed for them, saying, The good LORD pardon every one that prepareth his heart to seek God, the LORD God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of the sanctuary.And the LORD hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.And the children of Israel that were present at Jerusalem kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with great gladness: and the Levites and the priests praised the LORD day by day, singing with loud instruments unto the LORD.And Hezekiah spake comfortably unto all the Levites that taught the good knowledge of the LORD: and they did eat throughout the feast seven days, offering peace offerings, and making confession to the LORD God of their fathers.And the whole assembly took counsel to keep other seven days: and they kept other seven days with gladness.
For Hezekiah king of Judah did give to the congregation a thousand bullocks and seven thousand sheep; and the princes gave to the congregation a thousand bullocks and ten thousand sheep: and a great number of priests sanctified themselves.And all the congregation of Judah, with the priests and the Levites, and all the congregation that came out of Israel, and the strangers that came out of the land of Israel, and that dwelt in Judah, rejoiced. So there was great joy in Jerusalem: for since the time of Solomon the son of David king of Israel there was not the like in Jerusalem.Then the priests the Levites arose and blessed the people: and their voice was heard, and their prayer came up to his holy dwelling place, even unto heaven.
These are perpetual Feasts. We were not told, “Hey, it would be nice if…. “ or “occasionally think about….”. God says these are perpetual feasts to keep and maintain as a holy people.
Lev 23:21 And ye shall proclaim on the selfsame day, that it may be an holy convocation unto you: ye shall do no servile work therein: it shall be a statute for ever in all your dwellings throughout your generations.
and,
Lev 23:37 These are the feasts of the LORD, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, to offer an offering made by fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering, and a meat offering, a sacrifice, and drink offerings, every thing upon his day:
Lev 23:38 Beside the sabbaths of the LORD, and beside your gifts, and beside all your vows, and beside all your freewill offerings, which ye give unto the LORD.
Lev 23:39 Also in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days: on the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall be a sabbath.
Lev 23:40 And ye shall take you on the first day the boughs of goodly trees, branches of palm trees, and the boughs of thick trees, and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days.
Lev 23:41 And ye shall keep it a feast unto the LORD seven days in the year. It shall be a statute for ever in your generations: ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
Lev 23:42 Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths:
Lev 23:43 That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am the LORD your God.
Lev 23:44 And Moses declared unto the children of Israel the feasts of the LORD.
I want you to note, Jesus / Yeshua kept the feasts. The word says they are perpetual everlasting statutes. Is there some condition which God put on them? Did Yeshua mention any conditions? The only thing Christians have to recognize is that Yeshua was the last sacrifice because he is a living sacrifice and his blood is sufficient for all sacrifices of all time. To go about doing sacrificial offerings of lambs or birds or anything would be to say that Yeshua’s sacrifice was not good enough. We cannot do another or more perfect one than the one which the Son of God gave his own life as the good shepherd for the lost sheep.
Isa 53:2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
Isa 53:3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
Isa 53:4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
Isa 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Act 9:4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
Act 9:5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Act 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Act 9:7 And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.
Act 9:8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.
3. Act 22:6 And it came to pass, that, as I made my journey, and was come nigh unto Damascus about noon, suddenly there shone from heaven a great light round about me.
Act 22:7 And I fell unto the ground, and heard a voice saying unto me, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
Act 22:8 And I answered, Who art thou, Lord? And he said unto me, I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom thou persecutest.
Act 22:9 And they that were with me saw indeed the light, and were afraid; but they heard not the voice of him that spake to me.
Act 22:10 And I said, What shall I do, Lord? And the Lord said unto me, Arise, and go into Damascus; and there it shall be told thee of all things which are appointed for thee to do.
Act 22:11 And when I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of them that were with me, I came into Damascus.
4. Act 26:12 Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests,
Act 26:13 At midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me.
Act 26:14 And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
Act 26:15 And I said, Who art thou, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest.
Act 26:16 But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee;
Act 26:17 Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee,
1Co 9:1 Am I not an apostle? am I not free? have I not seen Jesus Christ our Lord? are not ye my work in the Lord?

Rev 2:2 I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:
2Ti 1:15 This thou knowest, that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me;
Yeshua warned of this one coming in their own name whom they would accept. He warned over and over about the false ones.
Joh 5:43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.
Jesus Says Not To Eat Meat Sacrificed to Idols, But Paul Says It Is Ok
Three times Jesus in the Book of Revelation condemns eating meat sacrificed to idols, even saying this is the doctrine of a false prophet. (Rev. 2:6, 14 (Ephesus); Rev. 2:14-15 (Pergamum); Revelation 2:20 (Thyatira).)
This absolute prescription also was set forth in James’ ruling at the Jerusalem Council in Acts 15:20. Then it is repeated when it was put in a letter. (Acts 15:29.) Finally, James reiterates this for a third and final time in Acts chapter 21. James tells Paul that many claim Paul is teaching lawless doctrine. So James reminds Paul what was the ruling at the Jerusalem Council. He tells Paul that previously “we wrote giving judgment that they [i.e., the Gentiles] should keep themselves from things sacrificed to idols….” (Acts 21:25.)
However, Paul clearly teaches three times that there is nothing wrong in itself eating meat sacrificed to idols. (Romans 14:21;1 Corinthians 8:4-13, and 1 Corinthians 10:19-29.) The first time Paul addresses the question of “eating meat sacrificed to idols,” Paul answers: “But food will not commend us to God; neither if we eat not….” (1 Cor. 8:8.) Paul then explained it is only necessary to abstain from eating such meat if you are around a “weaker” brother who thinks an idol is something. (1 Cor. 8:7, 8:10, 9:22.) Then, and only then, must you abstain. The reason is that then a brother might be emboldened to do something he thinks is sinful. The brother is weak for believing eating meat sacrificed to an idol is wrong. This is thus a sin for him to eat, even though you know it is not sinful to eat meat sacrificed to idols. Thus, even though you know better than your weaker brother that it is no sin to do so, it is better to abstain in his presence than cause him to sin against his weak conscience and be “destroyed.” (1 Cor. 8:11.)
Jesus Says The Law Continues, But Paul Says No
CAVEAT: The Law given Moses applicable to “foreigners/sojourners” (Gentiles) is a relatively small set of moral commands primarily from Leviticus, incorporating most of the Ten Commandments. So if the Law given Moses applies to Gentiles, it is not a burdensome list. Yet, we are still applying literally the Law, just as James did in Acts 15, by treating the term “foreigner/sojourners” versus “Israel” as literally as possible. This distinction perfectly explains why James said circumcision does not apply to Gentiles, i.e., Leviticus 12:1-3 only requires sons of “Israel” to be circumcised. Jesus’s View on the Law. Jesus emphasized the validity of the Law up through the passing away of Heaven and Earth, thus confirming its inspiration and ongoing validity. In Matthew 5:17-19 we read:
(17) Think not that I came to destroy the Law [of Moses] or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfil. (18) For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass away from the Law, till all things be accomplished [i.e., all things predicted appear on the stage of history]. (19) Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, he shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (ASV)
If we are HIS disciples who love and follow Jesus, then we should follow HIS example. Just as the first Adam fell through not keeping God’s Commandments, Jesus as the second Adam with no sin nature did what no other had been able to do, and that was to live according to and obey HIS Father’s commandments! We fall short often, but we repent and seek to do what is right in all things. Yeshua / Jesus kept the commandments of GOD.
Thus, Jesus can never be accused of seducing any Christian from following the Law. Jesus cannot be a false prophet under Deuteronomy 13:5 (false prophet is anyone who has miracles and wonders but seduces you from following the Law). Jesus said the Law remained valid until the Heavens and Earth pass away. This passing of heaven and earth occurs at the end of the Millennium. This is 1000 years after Christ’s Second Coming, according to the Book of Revelation.
I don’t want you to miss out on this very important “secret” if you will. It’s one of the key portions to understand. Read Deuteronomy now, and see if you have been tested and found wanting or will you hear, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”
Deu 13:1 If there arise among you a prophet, or a dreamer of dreams, and giveth thee a sign or a wonder,
Deu 13:2 And the sign or the wonder come to pass, whereof he spake unto thee, saying, Let us go after other gods, which thou hast not known, and let us serve them;
Deu 13:3 Thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams: for the LORD your God proveth you, to know whether ye love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
Jesus said, one would come in his own name, doing signs and wonders. That we were not to trust him. Jesus/Yeshua our blessed savior who died for us, and rose again defeating death warned us of all things, and have we paid attention? I remind you:
Joh 5:42 But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
Joh 5:43 I am come in my Father’s name, and ye receive me not: if another shall come in his own name, him ye will receive.Paul’s View on the Law. Paul says the opposite.
Paul is blunt in Ephesians 2:15, Colossians 2:14, 2 Cor. 3:11-17, Romans 7:1-3 et seq, and Galatians 3:19 et seq. The Law is “abolished,” “done away with,” “nailed to a tree,” “has faded away,’ and was “only ordained by angels…who are no gods.” If we were to cite Paul’s condemnations of the Law in one string, the point is self-evident that Paul abrogated the Law for everyone. See Eph. 2:15 (“setting aside in his flesh the law with its commands and regulations”); Col. 2:14 (“having blotted out the bond written in ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us: and he hath taken it out that way, nailing it to the cross;”) 2 Cor. 3:14 (“old covenant”); Gal. 5:1 (“yoke of bondage”); Rom. 10:4 (“Christ is the end of the law“); 2 Cor. 3:7 (“law of death”); Gal. 5:1 (“entangles”); Col. 2:14-17 (“a shadow”); Rom. 3:27 (“law of works”); Rom. 4:15 (“works wrath”); 2 Cor. 3:9 (ministration of condemnation); Gal. 2:16 (“cannot justify”); Gal. 3:21 (cannot give life); Col. 2:14 (“wiped out” exaleipsas); Gal. 3:19, 4:8-9 (“given by angels…who are no gods [and are] weak and beggarly celestial beings/elements”).
Jesus Says Only God Is Your Spiritual Father, and Call No Man on Earth Your Father, But Paul Says He Is The Corinthians’ Only Spiritual Father
Jesus said:
and ye may not call [any] your father on the earth, for one is your Father, who is in the heavens, (Matt. 23:9 YLT)
But Paul says:
For even if you had ten thousand others to teach you about Christ, you have only one spiritual father. For I became your father in Christ Jesus when I preached the Good News to you. (1 Cor. 4:15, NLT)
You know, the scene from Star Wars comes to mind when Darth Vader Tells Luke, “I am your Father” Paul looks more and more like an agent of the evil one and I as my readers know, like to see the hidden messages and parallels provided for us in the media particular in music videos and movies / TV. I see where Emperor Palpatine playing the good Senator but inwardly is really the sold out one working to build his own empire is an image of Paul. I’m telling you, by the time this generation stands before our beloved husband and God, we will be without excuses.
