On more than a GOOD FRIDAY, the PASSOVER LAMB OF GOD who TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD was slain and then RESURRECTED on Sunday.

Here is how the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus went down some 2,000 years ago when the Passover Lamb of God was slain for the sins of the world:

On that eventful more than a GOOD FRIDAY, on a more than a GREAT FRIDAY, Jesus hung on the cross and darkness came over the land for three hours. This was no eclipse. At midday, in a byproduct of what was going on in the spiritual world, God supernaturally suspended the light from the sun upon the earth. Jesus was the Passover Lamb, a perfect sacrifice for the sins of all mankind, and in an act that involved more than we can imagine, the Lamb of God bore the brunt of God’s punishment for the sins of all mankind (thank you Jesus!), causing a thick darkness to envelop the earth. Then in an epic moment for mankind, at 3:00 on the day we know as Friday, Jesus said “It is finished!” and gave up His spirit saying “Father, into your hands I commit my spirit” and then died.  At that moment, the curtain in the Temple split in two from top to bottom, symbolizing that JESUS, in the NEW COVENANT, has opened up the way into the Most Holy of Holies for all mankind. There was also an earthquake and the tombs of many people broke open and they were raised to life.

So on FRI, the KING of KINGS and LORD of LORDS was crucified, died, and was buried in a tomb.

On day 2, SAT, Jesus physical body lie dead in the tomb. But in the spiritual universe, He was down in the pits of hell in the bowels of the earth preaching to the imprisoned spirits. And then, in a dramatic turn of the most momentous kind, in the most glorious event for the Adamic race, on the morning of the THIRD DAY, which was the 1st day of the week (see Luke 24:1), SUN, the boulder in front of the tomb was rolled away by angels and in a burst of resurrection power, JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD! HALLELUJAH! And He left behind something that modern science cannot replicate nor explain, the Shroud of Turin along with the forensically matched Sudarium of Oviedo.

Here is why anyone and everyone should want to belong to the PASSOVER LAMB of GOD, who TAKES AWAY THE SINS OF THE WORLD, and why the passion, crucifixion, and resurrection events are so important to all mankind, for it provides a way of safety for us all:

GOD is a HOLY GOD. And GOD is a CONSUMING FIRE. Those two things go together. And SIN is consumed in the FIRE in GOD’S HOLY PRESENCE. And so on the DAY OF JUDGMENT, GOD’S PRESENCE will burn up all that are UNHOLY and UNRIGHTEOUS. And EVERYONE of their own accord is unholy and unrighteous. None of us are perfect and righteous and holy. Our “good works” are nothing but filthy rags in the sight of a PERFECT and HOLY GOD (see Isaiah 64:6). SIN separates men from GOD. So men who rest on their own merits cannot exist in the presence of a HOLY GOD without being consumed in the FIRE on the DAY OF JUDGMENT. But the GOOD NEWS is this ladies and gentlemen: we have a mediator for us between us and GOD. His name is JESUS, the HIGH PRIEST that meets our needs, the LAMB OF GOD who takes away our SINS! For all those that accept JESUS, the LAMB of GOD, as the sacrifice for their sins and makes Him their LORD and SAVIOR, they, in effect, “put on” the RIGHTEOUSNESS and HOLINESS of JESUS CHRIST. So when GOD looks at them, He sees not their own righteous (or lack thereof) or holiness (or lack thereof), but He see the perfect HOLINESS and RIGHTEOUSNESS of JESUS CHRIST. And such a person will be able to stand in the presence of GOD on the DAY OF JUDGMENT without being consumed in the eternally raging inferno known as the LAKE OF FIRE.

So whatever you do, DO NOT proceed to JUDGMENT DAY without JESUS as the SACRIFICE for your SINS!

JESUS, that’s my KING, I wonder, do you know Him?

THAT’S MY KING!

SEEK JESUS WHILE YOU STILL CAN!

Now, for some misled believers out there, I would like to address the Biblical meaning of the “third day”, of which the resurrection event was based upon, for Jesus rose from the dead on the “third day”. He was crucified on the cross on a more than good FRI and rose from the dead on SUN. The Biblical meaning of the “third day” in modern English vernacular is known as the “day after tomorrow”. There are some foolish believers out there who try and make the crucifixion and resurrection events take place over a literal, geeky, and absolutely fictional 72 hour period that is not congruent at all with the Word, and they stubbornly refuse to adhere to the Biblical meaning of the “third day”, which is this:

Jesus told the disciples that He would be raised on the “THIRD DAY”:

“From that time forth began Jesus to shew unto his disciples, how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and be raised again the THIRD DAY.”

—Matthew 16:21

“For he taught his disciples, and said unto them, The Son of man is delivered into the hands of men, and they shall kill him; and after that he is killed, he shall rise the THIRD DAY.”

—Mark 9:31

 “Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the THIRD DAY.”

—Luke 9:22

So then, according to the Word, here is the meaning of the “THIRD DAY”, which is when Jesus would resurrect:

10 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,

11 And be ready against the THIRD DAY: for the third day the Lord will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.

—Exodus 19:10-11

Notice the sequence described above. The LORD tells Moses to sanctify the people today and tomorrow and then on the THIRD DAY, He would appear to them. This is not a 72 hour period. The LORD counted today as day 1, tomorrow as day 2, and the following day as day 3. In modern language, one would say the day after tomorrow.

Here is another example of what the “THIRD DAY” means in Scripture:

5 And if ye offer a sacrifice of peace offerings unto the Lord, ye shall offer it at your own will.

6 It shall be eaten the same day ye offer it, and on the morrow: and if ought remain until the THIRD DAY, it shall be burnt in the fire.

—Leviticus 19:5-6

Again, we see in the above Scripture that the THIRD DAY IS THE DAY AFTER TOMORROW.

And here is Jesus using the same terminology, where the third day means the day after tomorrow:

“And he said unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.”

—Luke 13:32

So then, it was on the sixth day of the Jewish week, known as Friday, that Jesus was crucified and He rose from the dead on the first day of the Jewish week, known as Sunday.
