Understanding the OLD TESTAMENT for dummies

So there are parts of the Old Testament, different parts written for and by different people for different reasons.  The first part of it was written by Moses because FATHER YHWH told him to write it.  That consists of 5 books.  Genesis, Exodus, Deuteronomy, Numbers and Leviticus.  These five books and ONLY these five books contain THE COMMANDMENTS.  Not all of it is commandments , some of it was HIS STORY of creation and man and what happened to the earth and man.  Then the HIS STORY of the chosen people, beginning with Abraham.  Up unitl the time of Moses.  The NAME of the God that was speaking to a chosen few people in this small family group was not known..  Just as today we call Him by the aspects of who He is, Mighty Savior, Storng Deliverer, Father, that is the way they spoke of Him, but at the time of His calling Moses to come to a place of leadership, He told His name, I AM.  that was not just what we know of it to be in English, tho.  It was the I WAS, I AM and I WILL BE.and that is expressed the the letters and vowels of YHWH, in the Hebrew language. But the laws and commandments that are in these first five books come from YHWH and are directly words from the CREATOR OF THE WORLD, to men.  All of them, if they will listen.

The second section of the Old testament is the History, but it was never YHWH telling men to write this or write that word for word.  Instead it was like we have today men who wrote things down so those who lived after them would know the past events.  A HISTORY. .  And this one was of the Hebrews or Israel as they came to be known and Judah as they later came to be known.

Father YHWH did not want his people to be governed by any one man, no kings.  The problem was tho that the people of Israel did not listen to YHWH.  They never once kept the feasts of YHWH the way that YHWH told them to do.  They never once let the land rest in the seven year cycle, they never once all came together once they got to the land to worship Him and do the sacrifices that He told them to do, that is until the time of David.  Now you know why DAVID is important to YHWH and always will be.  He was the one king that tried to do the things that Father commanded us to do in order to live a life in step with HIm. There were many leaders before David.  And they were chosen because  they were the best available.  NONE were as faithful as say Moses, Samuel was a close second to him,  But even once there was not ANY MAN in the whole of Israel of Judah that was righteous enough to lead the people.  So Father YHWH found a WOMAN named Deborah who knew His Word and lived close enough to it to actually lead the men of Israel..  Some times it was not even YHWH that chose the leader, sometimes it was men who did so.  The thing is people think that everything that Israel or the leaders of Israel did during this time of HISTORY was somehow taught and told and sactioned by YHWH and that just is not true.  Often the shows us a History of the failure of Israel to worshp, live and do according to the will and commandments of YHWH.  For someone to take an event of this HISTORY of a PEOPLE who were failing their God and whose God told them they would in the only books they HE GAVE THEM and say that IT WAS THE GOD’S FAULT AND WILL AND DOING of theses stupid things these men did  IS JUST STUPIDITY ON THE PART OF THE THINKER, READER,AND SOMETIMES TEACHER.

CASE IN POINT.Jdg 11:1  Now Jephthah the Gileadite was a mighty man of valour, and he was the son of an harlot: and Gilead begat Jephthah. 
Jdg 11:2  And Gilead’s wife bare him sons; and his wife’s sons grew up, and they thrust out Jephthah, and said unto him, Thou shalt not inherit in our father’s house; for thou art the son of a strange woman. 
Jdg 11:3  Then Jephthah fled from his brethren, and dwelt in the land of Tob: and there were gathered vain men to Jephthah, and went out with him. 
Jdg 11:4  And it came to pass in process of time, that the children of Ammon made war against Israel. 
Jdg 11:5  And it was so, that when the children of Ammon made war against Israel, the elders of Gilead went to fetch Jephthah out of the land of Tob: 
Jdg 11:6  And they said unto Jephthah, Come, and be our captain, that we may fight with the children of Ammon. 
Jdg 11:7  And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, Did not ye hate me, and expel me out of my father’s house? and why are ye come unto me now when ye are in distress? 

I WANT YOU TO NOTICE WHO PUT THIS MAN IN CHARGE HERE.  IT WAS NOT EVER YHWH.  IT WAS THE MEN OF THE COUNTRY WHERE HE LIVED, THE HEBREWS, ISRAEL THOSE FOOLISH MEN WHO THE CREATOR OF THE UNIVERSE GAVE INSTRUCTIONS TO AND WHO NEVER BOTHERed TO KNOW WHAT THEY WERE OR  TO TRY TO LIVE BY THOSE WORDS.

THIS MAN DID NOT NECESSARILY HAVE UNDERSTANDING.OF THE COMMANDMENTS OF YHWH IF HE DID HE WOULD NOT BE MAKING OATHS ABOUT THINGS THAT GOT HIM IN TERRIBLE TROUBLE.  

BUT THE POINT IS AT NO TIME DID YHWH HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS SITUATION.  HE DID NOT PUT THIS MAN IN CHARGE.  THE PEOPLE AND THE MAN WERE NOT NECESSARILY LIVING ACCORDING TO HIS WORDS AND HE WAS NOT EVER IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM EVEN ASKED ABOUT WHAT TO DO THIS THIS CASE.  MEN DID EVERYTHING THAT WAS DONE ITS ALL ON THE MEN WHO DID THIS, NOT ON THE GOD OF ISRAEL. do you get it yet?

look carefully at this portion of the text:

Jdg 11:9  And Jephthah said unto the elders of Gilead, If ye bring me home again to fight against the children of Ammon, and the LORD deliver them before me, shall I be your head? 
Jdg 11:10  And the elders of Gilead said unto Jephthah, The LORD be witness between us, if we do not so according to thy words. 
Jdg 11:11  Then Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and captain over them: and Jephthah uttered all his words before the LORD in Mizpeh. 

  OK so every time you see LORD or GOD all caps like that, you know that what was written in the original text was YHWH. , the four letters that represent the I AM.  And so did this man ever go to YHWH and ask HIm anything?  Or is he just telling other people that YHWH delivered us, that I speak before YHWH and this man is using YHWH’s name here, but is YHWH actually speaking or saying write this, do this? no He is not.  It is this man who apparently has faith in YHWH, but not much understanding of YHWH’s commandments at all or he would not be swearing things in the NAME OF YHWH  as that is a no no in the commandments. How do I know this?  For one, his mother was a whore.  This was a direct sin according to the law, no father was to put his daughter out to be a whore and I also know that if this family had been living according to the commandments of YHWH they would not have had to do such a thing as sell and womans body in order to live.  Why? because Father says if you obey me I will bless you.  That does not necessairily mean He will make you rich, it means that you will have all you need to feel like you are blessed and living blessed, without having to become a whore. .

But men who have no understanding, and just like Japhthah want to lay on YHWH the actions of Japhtah and say that YHWH did this thing when actually Japhtah did this and only Japhtah ,  YHWH and His commandments had absolutely nothing to do with any of it at all.  It is just a history of a people who did not learn the commandments of their God and obey Him and what happened to them as a result. PERIOD.

So at the time of this event there wasn’t anyone in the land who had a real understanding of the commandments of YHWH and could lead the people according to those commandments.  There are many times in these chapters that you will find this to be the case.  So understand and do not think that YHWH was in cahoots with these men.   Often these men did what they wanted to do and never even THOUGHT  about what YHWH had told them to do.  KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS and then HE WOULD BLESS THEM.  They never ever even realized that all the bad things that were happening to them were because THEY NEVER KEPT THE COMMANDMENTS OF YHWH AND SO THEY WERE LIVING UNDER A CURSE.  Just as YHWH told them in the books of the LAW.

So these books of History are Joshua, Judges, Ruth, first and second Samuel, first and second Chronicles, first and second Kings Ezra and Nehemiah Ruth Esther and Job .

The next few books are what is known as the poets, but there is some real direct prophecy in a few of the chapters of these books.  but the difference is no where will you find these words:” and YHWH told me to write this down.”  That would be Psalms Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Song of Soloman.

The last books of the OLD TESTAMENT are once again WORDS DIRECTLY FROM THE CREATOR OF ALL THINGS, YHWH.  There you will find often that He told these men who are names of the books , to write this or that or the other.  And they did.  So in these things if you could find error,then it would be YHWH’s error, but you will not.  For every Word out of the mouth of YHWH is what we need to live.  That is a direct quote from both Messiah and from Torah the commandments and laws of YHWH.  These books begin with  Isaiah, and go to the end, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel, Daniel Hosea,Jonah, Amos, Obediah, Micah , Nahum Habbekuk, Zapheniah, Haggai,Zechariah and Malachi.

I pray this helped you better understand not just the OLD TESTAMENT, but YHWH Himself and how He has been given a BAD RAP from a lot of dummies who do not understand the OLD TESTAMENT or what and how they are structured and what of them comes from YHWH and what does not and how to tell the difference by reading them.  They in fact tell us they don’t have time to do so.  When that is the lie they tell themselves.  The need to take the time to read and understand especially before they start teaching others things they do not have a clue about.

Be Blessed, Obey YHWH’s commandments and believe His prophets words and know Messiah, HIs Salvation .  Live the way they told us to live by the commandments Yahushua the Messiah’s Father gave us and be blessed by them both for they are one in how to live, how to love Father and how to love one another.
