Was Jesus Christ forced to come to earth to “free” mankind from of His Father’s harsh law, a law; men argue is — bondage?

 

Christ came to free us from that “burdensome” “harsh” Law His Father — “mistakenly” – placed men in bondage to ? ? Really that is what you believe??

 

Is this not actually what is being taught by the churches when they teach the law was nailed to the stake?

 

The cross stake makes possible our Salvation, do you believe it does?

 

Do you understand why Christ is our Savior, our Passover, our Redeemer do you actually understand what took place up on that stauros?

 

Note: This study is long and replete with fine details which possibly only one or two will take the time necessary to prove for them selves if there is Truth here within.

 

The Bible contains God’s Truth’ and that Truth is scattered here a little and there a little from it’s beginning to it’s end and many scriptures are by design confusing and complex a fact which is amply proven by the anger, contentions, divisions and the many actual bloody wars the Bible has caused among so called christians grasping for control. Control of what: you!

 

Below are just a few of the many questions that for centuries have kindle anger, confrontations, confusion and caused wide divisions and even war among those ‘professing’ to be Christians.

 

 

1. Did the sacrifice of Christ abolish the Holy Law of God?

 

2. Something was nailed to the stake with Christ – What was it?

 

3. Did Christ remove our condemnation, what is condemnation and how was it removed?

 

4. Was Christ put to death as payment for our debt to sins?

 

 

The purpose of this study is to turn the light of God’s Truth on the questions above using scriptures found in the Old and the New Testament and applying the tool of logic given man by his creator to logically discern His WORD.

 

Common sense and logic created by God and given to mankind allows man to recognize the Truth when guided to it by the Father’s Spirit.

 

God’s WAY is Logical: God’s WAY is not at all the way of man.

 

Mankind, the proverbial bull in the china shop, filled with pride and vanity following that carnal path capriciously and foolishly as he stumbles through life destroying all in his path.

 

We are admonished by Jude to earnestly contend for the faith which was —‘once’ — delivered unto the Saints.

 

There is only ONE strait gate, only ONE narrow WAY and so called Christianity has constructed tens of thousands of wide gates and wide ways and — all — lead to death.

 

Each person must make their own decision concerning the conclusions reached by this study: But — if the preponderate of scripture and logic concludes Jesus Christ did not abolish the 10 Commandments, would a wise steward of God’s Word use a few hard to understand and easy to twist words and scriptures to justify turning their back on the 10 Commandments?

 

But those that hate God’s Law and refuse to allow Christ to rule over them –will always do so.

 

 

1. Did the sacrifice of Christ abolish the Holy Law of God?

 

 

If Jesus Christ knew He was going to nail the 10 Commandments to HIS stake why then did He make the following statement in Matthew?

 

Matthew 5: 17 Think – “not” – that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am – not – come to destroy, – but to fulfil.

 

NIV; Matthew 5: 17 “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.”

 

BOTH; fulfill “them” BOTH!

 

What could possibly be the reason for making the emphatic statement twice “I have not come to destroy the Law” to then turns 180 degrees and destroy the Law? It is normal for humans to make contradicting statements – Not for GOD?

 

In lieu of the statement Christ made in Matthew 5: 17 If you claim the Law was some how done away, are you not accusing Christ of being a liar or at least of making contradicting statements?

 

Why does man always run from the clear word of truth and instead run to those that can be twisted?

 

The key word folks claim “abolished’ the law” in verse 17 is “Fulfill”; and they willfully ignore the fact Christ stated twice He came not to destroy [destroy can also be translated: to overthrow, break up] .

 

So we must understand what Christ came to earth to accomplish — as that word “fulfill” can and has been twisted!

 

The word “fulfill” is #4137 ‘Pleroo’ and is also translated as; to make full, to complete.

How can this word be interpreted to mean – to abolish or to end or to finish?

Christ came and DID fulfill all prophecy the Prophets spoke of concerning His coming; Christ performed and fulfilled every prophesied event perfectly and to the very second.

 

Christ also came, according to the meanings of “fulfill”, to complete the Law and to make it full, to fill it up. None of those meanings infer or imply “abolish” or Christ did in “for you” so you do not have to obey the Law.

 

Completing and or to fufill the Law can have a two fold meaning, first Christ had to obey the Law physically and spiritually living by it perfectly, without even the slightest shadow of sin to become our perfect Passover Lamb without blemish.

 

Second: Christ “completed” the Law by adding the spiritual component thus making the law full and complete and filled to the full.

 

When the Law was given to the children of Israel it was a sin to murder but Christ states in this same chapter if you hate or are even angry at a person only in your mind it is the same as if you murdered them and thus is SIN.

 

Christ made the Law full and complete, now what you “think” in your mind is sin as well as what you do with your hand. The Law is now complete it is now physical and spiritual.

 

Matthew 5: 17 is without question a key scripture in the controversy over God’s Law.

 

Jesus Christ removed all doubts except for those that think Christ can lie as He stated emphatically; I did not come to destroy, overthrow or abolish the Law or the prophets of God but I did come to fulfill, make full and to complete them.

 

Everyone over looks the fact Christ included Prophesy — along with the Law — would be “fulfill”, if that word “fulfill” ended the Law would that not also mean it ended the prophets as well??

 

Let Christ in verse 21 and 22 of chapter 5 explain how He made full or “fulfill” the Law. Letting the Bible interpret the Bible is the way to Truth.

 

Matthew 5

 

21 Ye have heard that it was said by them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

 

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell (Gehenna) fire.

 

Hell fire is the Lake of Fire and that word hell is actually Gehenna which is a valley outside of Jerusalem where garbage is burned. The words “without a cause” may have been added by Rome.

 

Christ said He came to fulfill, make full – to complete and He did! The Commandments are now not just physical law but are made full and complete as the Spiritual component of the Law was included in the New Covenant.

 

What was given to Moses states; taking a persons life by murder is sin, but Christ completed the law spiritually by now making it SIN to despise or hate a person only — in your mind.

 

The Law is now even more impossible for carnal men to obey.

 

You may and should ask how was making the law “spiritual” as well as physical legally accomplished? Approaching God’s word from the legal perspective of God’s Torah is the correct and wise approach.

 

When Christ came to confirm, get approved by both parties, the New Covenant [contract], as it is a new contract, additional terms could be added.

 

And as new Spiritual promises (better promises) were added thus making the New covenant a Spiritual Covenant for a Spiritual people— it then must have a Spiritual Law to match the Spiritual promises.

 

In the Old Covenant the physical promises came only if the physical law was obeyed.

 

Under the New the Spiritual promises will never be given to the LAWLESS.

Revelation 22

14 Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

 

The terms of the Old Covenant were not lived up to by the children of Israel; they breached the contract, not God.

 

The Law given through Moses was a physical Law for a physical unconverted people: when Christ came He raised the Law to Spiritual for the converted Spirit filled “Called out Ones to God”: The Church of God, God’s Saints.

 

The Law is now not only — ‘not’ —abolished but actually was magnified in scope. Now without the Holy Spirit given after repentance and water baptism there is no possibility man could ever obey the completed Law even for one moment.

 

Isaiah 42: 21 confirms the Law will be magnified or expanded.

21 The LORD is well pleased for his righteousness’ sake; he will magnify the law, and make [it] honourable.

The word “Honourable” in verse 21 above, also means ‘become glorious’.

 

Why would Christ magnify the Law which means expand and make it become glorious and then — abolish it? These are logical questions that demand logical answers and not irrational mysticism.

 

Continuing in Matthew 5

 

NIV 18 “ For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.”

 

In verse 18 above for added emphasis Christ makes the statement to the effect: ‘The Law is not going any where’.

 

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

 

If Christ ended the law in verse 17 why did He then state; one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the Law and then go on in verse 19 to state: you better be obeying and teaching the LAW?

 

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them], the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

 

NIV 19 “Therefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”

 

Verse 19 is a huge dilemma for me:

 

How can any rational and sane person read the words Jesus Christ spoke in verses 17, 18 and 19 believe there is any possibility Christ voided or did away or nailed the 10 Commandments to His Stake?

 

How can this be read and not understood?

 

Sorry, logically this is beyond perfectly clear, what more do you need?

 

The above coming from the very mouth of Jesus Christ should be conclusive proof He has no intent of ever canceling or voiding the 10 Commandments.

 

Long after the death and resurrection of Christ read what Paul has to say about the Law.

 

Romans 7: 12 “ Wherefore the law [is] holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

 

And Paul to make sure it is understood WHICH Commandments said the following in Romans 7:

 

7 What shall we say then? [Is] the law sin? — God forbid. — Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, “Thou shalt not covet”.

 

Except the Law informed Paul that lust was a sin he could not know that fact.

 

Why would God cancel something He made Holy, Just and Good? Are we not to become Holy, Just and Good – exactly – like our Savior and HIS Father?

 

If God had to cancel the Law does that not infers God made a mistake?

He gave man something HOLY and it turned out to be evil and a harsh burden??

 

If you truly believe God made a mistake giving His Chosen People the Law, please don’t bother reading further, that would be a total waste of your time.

 

Jesus Christ will explain it to you when He Comes with HIS Rod of IRON..
