Is “BELIEF” the only requirement for salvation ?

     Is “BELIEF” the only requirement for salvation  ??

   Just believe and you shall be saved, really that’s it ???

The belief  “Jesus is the “Christ”, which is the truth, is acknowledged  by the vast majority of so called Christians, BUT Is that all that is required for salvation, according to the majority of what is called Christianity – that’s it!

Paul in Acts 17: 11 commends those in Thessalonica as they daily searched the scripture to prove if those Things were So.

11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word —  with all readiness of mind, —- and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.

12  Therefore many of them believed; also of honourable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.

So why don’t’ we follow the “noble” Thessalonians and search God’s Word diligently as well and determine what actually is the TRUTH?

If only the following scriptures are used to determine the truth of this matter it would appear all that is required for salvation  is — just believe.

Acts 2:  21  And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Joel 2:  32  And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the LORD hath said, and in the remnant whom the LORD shall call.

Romans 10: 13  For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

John 1: 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all [men] through him might – “believe”.

John 1: 12  But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that “”believe”’ on his name:

John 6: 29  Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

John 17:  20  Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Here we begin to find additional requirements:

Act 8: 37  And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

Now we are required to believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

 1Thessalonians 4: 14  For —- if —  we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

So we must believe not only that Jesus is the Son of God but that Jesus died and rose again.

Hebrews 11:  6  But without faith [it is] impossible to please [him]: for he that cometh to God– must— believe that he is, —and [that] — he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

We must also believe that GOD “IS” and additionally—- that GOD is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.  Belief must also be coupled with actively seeking God diligently, action is required.

Galatians  2: 16  Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith (faithfulness)  of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by “the works of the law” shall no flesh be justified.

We are justified by the faithful Jesus Christ as He willingly died for us, Christ was faithful until the end.

Is obedience to God’s Holy Law – work?  I read a list of things we are NOT TO DO.  Sinning requires work, not sinning requires no physical work. Stealing requires work, fornicating requires work, is it work to NOT DO some acts?

The “works of the Law’ is offering animal sacrifices to remind us of the need for the sacrifice, death by shedding His blood, of Jesus Christ our Passover.

Preparing an animal as a  sacrifice is WORK!  Ask any hunter.

Mark 16: 16  He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

OK, now being baptized, submersed under the water, is a requirement.

John 12: 44  Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.

Here Christ explains if you believe, that belief is actually — believing on the Father — that sent Christ to become our Passover.

James 2: 19  Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.

James, one of the brothers of Jesus, makes the valid statement the demons also believe – but as do most so called Christians — the demons refuse to obey.

Matthew 24: 13  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.

Now salvation requires we “endure until the end”.

Matthew 18

3  And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Here is a big requirement — unless you believe — and then — unless you become converted —- it is impossible for you to enter the kingdom.

How many “Christians”  even understand what it “IS” that must be converted?

Now Jesus Christ has raised the bar far above just believing.

John 6

52  The Jews therefore strove among themselves, saying, How can this man give us [his] flesh to eat?

53 then Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you,— Except ye eat the flesh of the Son of man, and drink his blood, — ye have no life in you.

54  Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day.

55  For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.

56  He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, dwelleth in me, and I in him.

Without eating the flesh of Christ and drinking His blood — eternal life is NOT possible.

The list of requirements is growing, this list is found here a little and there a little scattered throughout the Old and the New Testaments books and precepts must be built one upon another, fitly joined together.

Are you beginning to understand — faith without works is dead: simply believing, speaking those words without the actions necessary to demonstrate to our Father – that you DO actually believe what your mouth speaks.  Actions always speak louder then words.

Jesus Christ, lived every single day of His life on earth—- by every WORD of GOD – why ??  Jesus Christ came to demonstrate, to prove He trusted His Father even to the point that He was led as a lamb to the slaughter as His Father required of Him.

Jesus Christ proved beyond doubt He trusted His Father by giving His Life as payment for our sins.

Many do not believe this fact:  Jesus Christ i.e. the WORD of the God family by whom all that was made was made, cease to exist at death. In that moment HIS thoughts ended for 3 days and 3 nights while in the grave.

Jesus Christ knew His Father would restore HIM to eternal life, thus He willing gave His life, His physical life and spirit life i.e. His breath His blood and His Spirit and died. Christ died or He is not our savior.

Those lusting for a rapture are not willing to endure until the end or willing to give their lives as a sacrifice to God.

Matthew 18:17  And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? [there is] none good but one, [that is], God: —- but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Jesus Christ kept ALL of His Father’s Holy Commandments as the example we are to follow – IF —  we want to enter eternal life with our Father and His Son.

This requirement is a HUGE stumbling block to 99.9% of those calling themselves Christians. And it will remain so until Christ returns ruling with His Rod of Iron —  forcing obedience to the Torah.

The above WILL not change many, if any, minds.  If our Father does not draw you to His Son, you, on your own can never find HIM.

When Christ returns He comes with the light of TRUTH brighter then our sun, and “in that day” there will be ONE God, ONE faith — ONE WAY – ONE narrow path to life and the LAW i.e. God’s Torah will go out from Jerusalem and the entire world will obey that HOLY LAW.

As there are too many scriptures that can and should be included in this study we will conclude with these words from the Apostle to the gentiles, Paul..

 Romans 12: 1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, [which is] your reasonable service.

2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Jesus Christ and Our Father require DOERS of the WORD. Why call Jesus Christ “Master” and Lord and do not what your Master tells you to DO?  ALL of IT!
