Yoga and meditation are the need of the hour

Mental health has become one of the biggest issues on the planet today. In this time when the pandemic has taken over the world and people are in lockdown, there is a lot of anxiety in the hearts and minds of people. The best solution to overcome this is most certainly yoga and meditation.

It is imperative and I would say the need of the hour, for both yoga and meditation to be introduced in all corners of the world as the benefits are enormous.

Besides helping to build a strong immune system, yoga also keeps one physically fit and emotionally stable. Regular practice keeps the energy levels high which in turn enhances one’s enthusiasm. We convey more through our vibrations and through yoga we make our vibrations positive and attractive.

We all have this responsibility to make sure that the opportunity to do Yoga is available to every citizen. Those who have found peace within must share it with everybody. I urge every yoga student and teacher to reach out to more and more people and do their bit in bringing our world back on track by sharing this precious knowledge.

I am glad to know that one third of the world population today is practising yoga and hope that the remaining two third will also adopt these practices. Like cellphones have reached billions of homes worldwide, we have to take yoga to every household and individual on the planet.

On this occasion of International Yoga Day, let us renew our dedication, and resolve to do the same. To bring the wisdom of meditation, awareness of the environment to everyone. Let us hope that in the coming years we will be able to assemble in big groups in big parks and do Yoga together and inspire each other. But this year let us be content with the online programs which are happening all over the world.
