What if all Christians stopped watching broadcast and cable TV?  How would the world be different? Sometimes just asking the right questions creates the spark that ignites a revolution.

I believe for most Christians, the time spent viewing is at least as important (or possibly more so) as what is being watched. Add to this the endorphin drip in the brain while watching 3 or more hours a day. This would tend to suggest that not only do Christians have their mind on a leash for 3 or more hours a day just during the work week, but there may be an addiction to pleasure (endorphins) as well.

This problem needs to be dealt with if the Church is ever to be a light in the world and if the Church will ever have a chance at experiencing revival. See the pie chart in the video.

People who have a lifestyle / schedule that fits this chart, live for TV. I rest my case.

If even 10% of the Church turned off the TV we would free up billions of hours for Christian service (and dare I say, political activism) each year. 

The Christian life has 3 main elements that can effect change in the world.

Time, Talent / ability, money / possesions.

Most Christians are content to flush at least one of these every week.

Fixing this time problem is the monitary equivalent to investing in amazon when it was a few dollars a share.

How much time do you spend doing what?  Make a chart for the average work day, another for Saturday, and also one for Sunday?  If you are average you burn through about 30 hours a week with your mind on a leash.  Sesame street works well to educate children because they do not know they are being taught while they are being entertained.  TV works well on adults because they do not know they are being taught while they are being entertained.
