Houston Texans: Arian Foster Likely to Play vs. Dolphins, Ben Tate Good Fantasy Flex Play

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster is likely to play in today’s opener against the Miami Dolphins, barring any setbacks in warm-ups, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Foster is listed as questionable and will be a game-time decision, due to knee soreness. The Texans pulled Foster off of the practice field Thursday, and he went on to miss practice on Friday.

Given who the Texans are playing, the lowly Dolphins, a team that showcased a whole lot of nothing during HBO’s Hard Knocks, it might be smart to hold Foster out in favor the guy who many consider the best No. 2 back in the league, Ben Tate.

Tate rushed for 942 yards in 2011 and is more than capable of being carrying the load in Gary Kubiak‘s offense.

For you fantasy players out there, if you’re looking for a strong flex play, Tate might just be your guy. You have to figure that he’ll see at least 10-15 carries, even if Foster plays.
