Seattle Seahawks: Marshawn Lynch Expected to Suit Up Against Cardinals, But Avoid Starting Him in Fantasy Play This Week

Seattle Seahawks running back Marshawn Lynch is expected to play against the Arizona Cardinals, but his workload could be diminished, due to back spasms that limited him earlier in the week.

If Lynch can’t go, rookie Robert Turbin would get the nod, but according to Mike Florio, league sources have indicated that won’t be the case “unless something crazy happened.”

Lynch is coming off a stellar year, when he rushed for 1,204 yards and 12 touchdowns. The Seahawks rewarded Lynch for his production in March, with a four-year contract worth $31 million.

Even if Lynch does play today, it might be a sound decision to avoid the former Cal Bear, until he works through these back spasms. He likely won’t get the carries he would get normally and any back injury hampers one’s ability, especially at the halfback position. Turbin is a talented young back, but you might want to look elsewhere this week if you’re looking for the type of production a healthy Lynch could provide.
