10 Dynasty Sleepers To Invest In Now

Dynasty Sleepers

With the fantasy football regular season coming to a close, its time to look to the future. Whether you have a playoff spot locked up, or have only won one game this season, dynasty leagues never sleep and each owner should constantly be looking to improve their teams all year long. Here are a few names to target for the future.

Quarterbacks

Nick Foles- It should be pretty obvious that Foles is a guy you need to stash on your roster if he is available. Mike Vick continues to struggle, and its just a matter of time before he is either benched, or sent packing out of Philadelphia. Foles looked great in the preseason and in relief in Week 10 after Vick got hurt. Some were over-critical of some of Foles’ throws, but for a player that had all of five minutes to prepare for the game, he did quite well. It’s easy to be optimistic that he could be a solid QB2 for fantasy if given the starting job full time.

Brock Oswieler- Peyton Manning isn’t getting any younger, and he isn’t the poster child for being healthy either. Oswieler is a monster at 6’7″, 242 lbs. He hasn’t had any playing time to speak of, and will need some work to become a polished quarterback. Getting some time to sit behind the great Peyton Manning should definitely help out, and with Manning’s age and health, Oswieler could see the field sooner rather than later.

Running Backs

Joique Bell- This third year running back is turning some heads in Detroit. Reports are the Lions are really high (no pun intended) on this guy, especially as a pass catcher out of the backfield. Bell should take over the roll that Jahvid Best has played in the last few years. Mikel Leshoure has an injury and off-the-field history, and if he went down at anytime, Bell would have an even more increased roll in the offense. Bell will be a great stash for PPR leagues as he is only 26, and doesn’t have a lot of mileage on the tires, so to speak.

Bryce Brown- Brown is stuck behind LeSean McCoy but he continues to see the field one way or another. He is only 21, so he has a long career ahead. The way the NFL values running backs these days, there is no telling how long Philly will stay with McCoy. It may be a few years, but if you have the bench room, Bryce Brown is a nice add, and a must own if you have LeSean McCoy.

Chris Ivory / Travaris Cadet- The Saints are loaded at running back and it’s sad to not see all of them get the opportunity to showcase their talents. I see the Saints moving one or two of either Pierre Thomas, Chris Ivory or Travaris Cadet. Either way Ivory and Cadet would see even more action. Ivory has has some injury history in the past, but at only 24, he still has some quality years remaining. Cadet had looked great when on the field. He and Ivory are both similar style players, but Cadet has a bit of an advantage in the passing game. Either of these guys could be a great play next season, and could be had for next to nothing right now in a trade, or sitting on waivers.

Wide Receivers

Josh Gordon-Gordon got all the hype going into the 2012 supplemental draft. He has played up to it thus far, and has clearly surpassed Greg Little as the top receiver in Cleveland. With a new owner and front office change after the 2012 season, there are a lot of uncertainties for players and coaches as the regime has no ties to them. Gordon will be a guy that remains and will be the clear-cut number one receiver for the Browns going forward. He has had up and down weeks, so you can probably get him for pretty cheap right now.

Jonathan Baldwin - Baldwin comes with a bit of a diva attitude and some troubles in the past. However he is pretty talented, and just hasn’t had the playing time or quarterback play thus far in Kansas City. The Chiefs offense has been a kind of one receiver offense, so obviously Baldwin has been blocked being behind Dwayne Bowe, who will almost certainly be out of KC next season. This will allow Baldwin to take over as the number one receiver. The Chiefs will most likely get a new starting quarterback during the off-season, which only helps out Baldwin as well.

Keshawn Martin- He has mainly been playing in the slot, but Andre Johnson and Kevin Walter aren’t getting any younger and are always injured. If one of them goes down due to injury, or is eventually let go, which I’m sure will happen at some point, Martin could take over and be a young talent going forward.

Tight Ends

Brandon Myers-The Raiders have clearly found their tight end of the future. Myers leads the team in yards and receptions. He is great add for PPR leagues, and could almost be considered an every week starter at this point. He is a little older than most dynasty targets at 27, but should still have a minimum 2-3 years of production.

D.J. Williams- We know the Jermichael Finley song and dance, and honestly its time to move on. Williams hasn’t got a lot of playing time despite Finley’s injuries and drops. Tom Crabtree has got all the attention this season, but I think D.J. Williams is the better talent. Remove that long TD-grab that Crabtree recently hauled in and his stats are quite comprable to those of Williams.
