Equatorial Guinea Girls Catapults to Semi-Finals

Malabo, Equatorial Guinea – The national soccer team of Equatorial Guinea advanced into the semi-final match of the 8th edition of the African Cup of Nations on Saturday. The Equatorial Guinea Girls, dubbed by their fans in America won a convincing match against Senegal with a 5 to nil score.

Equatorial Guinea Girls reserved some of the injured players, but maintained the block, because if there is something the coach did not want was excessive confidence that could set back all the work carried out. At the start, Miriam, Nke, Dulcia, Vania, Dorín, Ayonman, Laetitia, Jumaria, Camila, Jade and Tiga played. The team began very focused and at five minutes the first goal arrived, thanks to Jade.

Coach Esteban Becker emphasize that the team play with intensity and that the objectives would be accomplished. The fifth goal arrived from the feet of the captain Genoveva Ayonman, who did not let the opportunity pass of continuing to increase the score.

“We do not have preference for any team for the semifinal, since all the teams are strong, but they work hard to achieve their objective, which is none other than winning”, said captain Geovana Ayonman.

“The development of soccer in Equatorial Guinea comes with passion and the mother of the nation, Constancia Mangue Nsue de Obiang, wife of President Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, championed this pursuit of excellence”, said Victor Mooney of New York based South African Arts International, Ltd.
