SNYGiants Week 17 NFL Picks

It’s the last week of the regular season, so I need to pick all four games correctly just to finish above .500 for the season.

Here are this week’s picks. I’ll be using the point spreads from Yahoo! Sports. Feel free to include your picks for these or any other of the week’s games in the comments section. Good luck!

Week 16 Record: 1-3

Overall: 18-21

Green Bay Packers (-3) at Minnesota Vikings

The Packers have already clinched the NFC North title, but a win would ensure a first round bye. The Vikings meanwhile need to win to keep playoff hopes alive. But the Packers not only want a bye but also a tune-up before the playoffs. Aaron Rodgers is just too good.

Pick: Packers

Chicago Bears (-3) at Detroit Lions

The Giants need the Bears and Vikings to lose to have any shot at the playoffs. The Vikings may fall to the Packers, but even at home, the Lions have little shot of beating the Bears. The Lions have been very disappointing all season so maybe they show up at home for their fans, but the Bears need the game and will come out ready.

Pick: Bears

Dallas Cowboys (+3) at Washington Redskins

Again, this game affects the Giants. A Redskins’ win ensures them of the division title and eliminates the Cowboys completely. Tony Romo has played great football down the stretch, but the Cowboys have gotten very lucky. That luck ran out last week against the Saints, and expect a similar fate this week even at home to RGIII.

Pick: Redskins

Philadelphia Eagles (+7) at New York Giants

If the Giants can’t win and cover against the hapless Eagles, they don’t deserve a spot in the playoffs. Even if the other teams come through, the Giants still must in their game. As Eli Manning said, ending the season on a high note is definitely important even if Big Blue doesn’t make the tournament.
