Browns trade Trent Richardson to Colts for pick, to sign Willis McGahee

A “MONSTER TRADE” indeed, Mr. Irsay.

In addition to Andrew Luck, the Colts now have two top-three picks from the 2012 NFL Draft on their roster.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Browns have traded running back Trent Richardson to the Colts for their 2014 first-round draft pick.

Of course, this news is horrible for Ahmad Bradshaw fantasy owners.

With Vick Ballard out for the season, Bradshaw carried the ball 15 times for 65 yards and a score to go along with three receptions for 19 yards in last week’s loss to the Dolphins.

Bradshaw and the Colts have a tough matchup against the 49ers this week, but he’s unlikely to find his way into your starting lineup as he takes a back seat to Richardson, one of the league’s best young running backs.

Richardson has carried the ball 31 times for 105 yards (3.4 yards per carry) and seven receptions for 51 yards. Although Richardson averaged only 3.6 YPC last season, he was the only back in the league to rush for double-digit touchdowns and finish with 50-plus receptions.

Not only does Richardson join a more explosive offense, but he no longer has to face the Ravens, Steelers and Bengals run defenses six times per year.

Meanwhile, the Browns are expected to sign free-agent running back Willis McGahee, who is now worth adding in all league sizes if he’s available on your league’s waiver wire.
