2014 NFL Mock Draft Update: Teddy Bridgewater to the Jaguars

With a quarter of the NFL season in the books, an update of my 2014 NFL mock draft was long overdue.
Here is my 2014 NFL Mock Draft:
1. Jacksonville Jaguars (draft history): Teddy Bridgewater, QB, Louisville
The Jags are averaging only 7.8 points and 224.0 yards per game, both of which are league lows. Fortunately for them, this year’s draft class is full of potential franchise-changing quarterbacks and Bridgewater is the head of the class.
2. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (draft history): Jadeveon Clowney, DE, South Carolina
Although Clowney is the best prospect in this year’s draft class, it’s possible that a quarterback or two is taken before him.
3. Oakland Raiders (draft history): Brett Hundley, QB, UCLA
Perhaps Terrelle Pryor is the answer at quarterback, but Hundley has all of the tools to become an elite quarterback.
4. Pittsburgh Steelers (draft history): Taylor Lewan, OT, Michigan
The Steelers seem to have the worst luck with the health of their offensive linemen, but Lewan is one of three elite left tackles in this year’s draft class.
5. New York Giants (draft history): Jake Matthews, OT, Texas A&M
The son of Hall-of-Famer Bruce Matthews, Matthews has the versatility to play left or right tackle and will help improve the protection of Eli Manning, who is on pace to be sacked 56 times this season.
6. Minnesota Vikings (draft history): Tajh Boyd, QB, Clemson
Christian Ponder is not the long-term answer at quarterback and selecting Boyd will help take some off the pressure of Adrian Peterson.
7. Philadelphia Eagles (draft history): Marcus Mariota, QB, Oregon
Having played for Chip Kelly as a freshman, Mariota is a perfect fit in Kelly’s offense and Michael Vick will be a free agent after the season.
8. St. Louis Rams (via WAS)(draft history): Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
While Kouandjio has the tools to be an elite left tackle, starting right tackle Rodger Saffold will become a free agent at the end of the season.
9. St. Louis Rams (draft history): Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
With three other first-round defensive linemen (Chris Long, Robert Quinn and Michael Brockers), Nix can be a dominant force on the interior of their defensive line with that group.
10. New York Jets (draft history): Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA
The Jets get a huge bargain here with Barr, a converted running back. Barr was tied for second in the nation in sacks (13.0) last season.
