Beazley's Week 1 DraftKings Values By Position

There are various ways to construct a roster in one-week salary-cap leagues, but if you want to put higher-priced studs on your roster, you’ll need to find some cheaper options to keep your team under the salary cap.

Here are some DraftKings Week 1 values by position:

QB – Shaun Hill, St. Louis Rams (vs. MIN), $5,000

Before you call me crazy, Hill is at the site’s minimum salary for quarterbacks and has a juicy home matchup against a Vikings team that ranked 31st in the NFL in passing yards allowed last year. Hill’s low salary allows you to spend more on some of this week’s top-tiered players.

RB – Pierre Thomas, New Orleans Saints (at ATL), $5000

Thomas is one of my favorite RB plays in Week 1. Atlanta was 31st in the NFL against the run last year, plus Thomas is their main threat to catch passes from the backfield. There are some that think that Pierre Thomas could hit triple-digits in receptions this season. I am one that thinks he can come real close. I have multiple lineups centered around Thomas this week.

WR – Emmanuel Sanders, Denver Broncos (vs. IND), $4,800

Receiver Wes Welker had been a question mark headed into Week 1 with a concussion, now we don’t have to worry about his status for the opener as he has been suspended four games for his use of amphetamines. Sanders now jumps into the team’s No. 2 WR role. Sanders has had pretty good chemistry this preseason with Peyton Manning connecting on two touchdowns in their dress rehearsal game in Week 3 of the preseason.

TE – Travis Kelce, Kansas City Chiefs (vs. TEN), $3,200

Kelce is the 31st-most expensive TE on the board this week, and he has a very favorable matchup against a Titans defense that is notoriously bad at covering the TE. Safety Michael Griffin seems to be always out of position which leads to big plays over the middle of the field. The Titans did switch to a hybrid 3-4 defense, so there is risk involved, but at this price, it is bargain. The Chiefs will also be without starting WR Dwayne Bowe, who is suspended for Week 1, so Kelce should be targeted early and often.
