Matt Moore So Close, Giants Beat LA

The big picture is the San Francisco Giants lost 2-out-of-3 to the Los Angeles Dodgers and have slipped to 2 games back in the NL West. The bright side is Giants fans finally got to see why the Giants traded Matt Duffy for Matt Moore.

Moore was on his A-game last night. He nearly no-hit the Dodgers, till a bloop single to right field by Corey Seager with 2 outs in the bottom of the 9th inning. I must admit, I was really bummed to see that ball fall in there. I honestly think Hunter Pence would have made that catch or at least went all out and laied out to try.

I’m sure you’re wondering why Pence wasn’t in the game? He was pulled earlier in the game with hamstring tightness. Don’t worry Giants fans, he’s not back on the shelf. However, he’s currently listed as day-to-day.

Let’s hope the G-men can build off of this victory over the Dodgers and start to play some good ball again. Since yesterday, the Giants have gained ground on the Dodgers, and moved up to 1.5 games ahead of the St. Louis Cardinals in the Wildcard race.
