San Francisco Giants’ Christian Arroyo hits his first Major League Home Run (2-run homer) off Los Angeles Dodgers’ Sergio Romo in the bottom of the 7th inning.

Last night could have been the game that sparks the San Francisco Giants and gets them back on track for this 2017 season. They found themselves down 3-0 to the hated Los Angeles Dodgers, but there was no quit in them last night. Infielder Christian Arroyo got his first big league career hit against Clayton Kershaw in the previous game, and he wanted to show the Dodgers that’s not all he can do… Arroyo took ex-Giants relief pitcher Sergio Romo deep for a 2-run homer in the bottom of the 7th (1st career homer and against the Dodgers – bonus points), and that made it a 3-2 Dodgers lead.

Earlier in the day, the Giants called up power hitter Michael Morse. Morse knows his role with the Giants, it’s to come off the bench and try to hit homers. He did just that, Morse stepped to the plate and with 2-strikes hit a bomb in the bottom of the 8th inning to tie the game at 3-3.

Michael Morse with a game tying pinch-hit homer in the bottom of the 8th off Los Angeles Dodgers reliever Pedro Báez.

With the momentum swinging the Giants way, their bullpen went on to throw 4 shutout innings. Then their offense was able to load the bases in the bottom of the 10th. Hunter Pence stepped to the plate and was having a battle that had him fouling off pitches left and right. Pence managed to get it to a full count before hitting a deep sacrifice fly to left field and Gorkys Hernandez tagged up to score the walk-off winning run!

The Giants were getting no hit for most of that game, but it was a great comeback win for the G-men!
