Jets Head to Buffalo: Who’s Dinged Up, Who Can Step Up?

In a disappointing and lost season for both the Jets and the Bills, today’s game has little meaning. The Jets will be looking for revenge after their matchup earlier this season may be remembered as one of the ugliest and most embarrassing losses in Jets history as they got blown out by a sub par team led by a quarterback who hadn’t thrown an NFL pass in 2 years. All that said, lets take a look at who could step up in injured players absences’ this week.

WR Robby Anderson was limited in practice Thursday and Friday so he is questionable. Without him, the Jets have been non existent on deep ball throws and it has taken an entire dynamic out of the offense.  If Anderson can’t go, it could mean more targets for Jermaine Kearse who hasn’t built as much of a rapport with Sam Darnold as fans had hoped.

RB Isaiah Crowell did not practice Wednesday and Thursday, and was limited on Friday so he is listed as questionable as well, but it feels there is less of a chance he plays. Elijah McGuire would get the majority of carries with Trenton Cannon mixing in if Crowell doesn’t play. It would be nice if McGuire could be more productive the next few weeks, showing he could be a nice #2 compliment to lets say, Le’Veon Bell…

TE Jordan Leggett was limited all week and is questionable, but he has been a non-factor all season so he will only be missed on special teams. CB Buster Skrine was a full participant Wednesday and Thursday, but was limited Friday so he is also questionable. If he doesn’t play, Parry Nickerson would get slot duties which would be nice in a lost season to, you know, see if your young players have it or not. It would actually be good if Skrine doesn’t play, considering how Todd Bowles has little interest in getting a look at some of his young players.
