Why Bryce Harper to the Giants Makes Sense…

We still don’t know if the San Francisco Giants will land Bryce Harper or not. It does seem like the Giants might have slipped passed the Philadelphia Phillies and it could be a two team race with the hated Los Angeles Dodgers!

Now the rumor winds blowing say that the Giants are offering a 10-year deal and the Dodgers are somewhere around 7-8 years. Which means it could come down to Harper looking to win now and leave some years/money on the table or if he goes with the security of the years/money.

Both are close to his Las Vegas home, and both have spring training in Arizona. Which means it’s really just the years and money. I do believe if it’s the same offer, he’s going to be Hollywood bound. If it isn’t, that’s where our Giants can slip in and snag their big fish!

Some fans think the G-Men should pass on Harper, or some people say they’re not going to be contenders even if they sign him. My reply to that is… Why don’t you land a big time player like this when you can? There’s no point of waiting a few years and then no on of his caliber is even available…

Once you sign a big time player like Harper, that means other free agents in the future would be looking to sign here and join him as well. The San Diego Padres are the perfect example. I’m sure next offseason, they’ll be an attractive destination to free agents because they’ll have Manny Machado and Eric Hosmer. Before them, do you think any big player would be thinking they want to go to San Diego?

Let’s go Giants ownership, SF Giants Rumors is fully on board with you getting out that checkbook and signing Harper long-term! He’s going to bring fans to the games, sell merchandise, and lure in more big time players over the years…
