Raiders Wrap Up the Best WR in the Game; Deal Two Picks to Pittsburgh for Antonio Brown

The Raiders just got themselves a whole lot better, and only had to give up a third and fifth round pick in this years draft to do it.

Early Sunday morning the team made a deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers for Steelers unhappy wide out Antonio Brown, bringing the Raiders their best wide out threat in years to go along with QB Derek Carr.

As Adam Schefter of ESPN reports, Brown and agent Drew Rosenhaus more or less put the deal to Oakland together, as the Steelers appeared to have something in place for Brown late Thursday, early Friday sending him to the Bills, but Brown said he would not report to Buffalo.

Brown tweeted a picture of himself wearing Oakland’s Silver and Black late Saturday night and issued a second post of himself and Raiders quarterback Derek Carr when they were teammates on the AFC Pro Bowl squad.

The Raiders, as expected, also will make Brown the highest paid wide out in the game, giving him a reworked contract that covers three years and pays $50.1 million (with a maximum value of $54.1 million) with $30.1 million of it guaranteed.

It’s a massive upgrade to the Raiders passing game, as the team sent Amari Cooper packing during the season to the Cowboys, but now get a player who should, if he stays motivated, be as good as any in the game based on his past performances.

Last season Brown was second on the Steelers with 104 catches 1,297 yards, numbers that should only be better playing in Jon Gruden’s offense in Oakland.

With three first-round picks and now Brown in the fold, the Raiders are going to look a LOT different in 2019.
