The Bills Are Slowly Getting Respect as They Move Up the Power Rankings

The Buffalo Bills sit 2-0 for the first time in five seasons, and while many are still not talking about the Bills as any sort of contender in the AFC, some are finally coming around that this team might make some noise in 2019 just yet.

Checking in maine sports betting, the Bills were a team that many felt were going to only win maybe 5-7 games, but already here in September the team has won two games, which has to be starting to turn some heads in and out of the AFC East.

Tuesday is usually the day around the NFL where teams bring in players to workout and suspensions are announced, and also it’s the day that a lot of the national publications start to come out with their weekly ‘Power Rankings.’

One such national site that puts out their rankings on Tuesday is that of ESPN, and of course as one would expect, they have the New England Patriots, a team that has laid out both the Pittsburgh Steelers as well as Miami Dolphins in weeks one and two.

The Pats have outscored their competition by a 76-3 over the first two games, and this week should be another cakewalk for them as they take on the beat up New York Jets, who likely will have to play Luke Falk at quarterback after injuries to their first two QB’s.

The Bills and Pats will do battle in week four, and it should give a pretty good indication as to where this Bills team stands with the big boys of the AFC.

As for this week, ESPN is giving them a little more respect, as they have moved them up seven spots, going from 22 to 15.

That’s a solid jump, and it remains to be seen if they can beat the Bengals at home this week in their home opener.

Pleasant surprise:

Shaq Lawson. Most of the hype on the Bills’ defensive line surrounded Ed Oliver, Jerry Hughes and Trent Murphy, but Lawson has turned in a strong start after the team declined to pick up his fifth-year option this offseason. Buffalo is relying on its rotation on the edge this season, so it’s reasonable to think Lawson can build on the sack, two QB hits and deflected pass he has recorded through two games. — Marcel Louis-Jacques

Get a home win on Sunday over 0-2 Cincy and they may start to earn even more respect by the national pundits.
