Bengals Looking to Get Off to Fast Start, Challenge the Best in the NFL in 2021
There’s no doubt that when Wednesday night hit, Bengals fans were giddy looking at the 2021 NFL slate that features the AFC North as well as the Bengals, and their entire 17-game slate for the upcoming season!
While there’s a number of great matchups on the Bengals slate, including divisional games vs the Ravens, Browns and Steelers, the team also has a number of great games, home and away to look forward to.
Here are the 3 matchups that I’m most looking forward to:
9/12 vs Minnesota – The team will welcome back former defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer for this week one affair that could see the Bengals get off to a quick start. The Bengals will need to hold down Delvin Cook at running back and the offense with a hopeful somewhat healthy Joe Burrow will look to make plays early and often.
10/31 at NY Jets – QB Zach Wilson is going to have a ton of pressure on his early in the season, and for the Jets they have to protect the 2nd overall pick in the draft and make sure to keep him upright so he can help an offense that was awful a season ago. The Bengals wanna ruin his road debut.
12/12 vs San Francisco – By the middle to late part of December we will know for sure if the Bengals are contenders or pretenders in the AFC for a playoff birth. A matchup with a solid 49ers team at home can go a long way to letting us know what and who this team truly is. If the Bengals are healthy, they should put up a fight.
