Jaguars Looking to Get Off to Fast Start, Challenge the Best in the NFL in 2021

Last season the Jags won just one game, and due to that earned the first overall pick in the NFL Draft in which they took Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence.

The team is hoping that the quarterback can quickly transition to being a stud QB in the NFL, and that with new coach Urban Meyer the team is looking to have a much better team overall in 2021.

That doesn’t mean it’ll be easy, as the team has a tough 2021 slate they have to deal with.

While there’s a number of great matchups on the Jags slate, including divisional games vs the Texans, Titans and Colts, the team also has a number of great games, home and away to look forward to.

Here are the 3 matchups that I’m most looking forward to:

10/19 vs Denver – The Jaguars’ 2021 regular-season home opener is the first of a stretch of four home games in five weeks. They take on a Broncos team that is trying out new players at key spots, like the QB spot where the team has picked up Teddy Bridgewater. If the Jags can earn some early confidence with Meyer and Lawrence, they might just be able to pull off the upset at home.

10/31 at Seattle – MVP Russell Wilson is always a threat, and at home there’s no question that the Hawks are a much better team. It’ll be a tough test for Lawrence and the Jaguars, and they need to step up and play well. It’ll be up to the Jags to play a sound game that shows them playing well on both sides of the ball if they want to hang with a Super Bowl contender like the Hawks.

01/02 at New England – The Pats at home still are a very good team, and in this case it’s gonna be tough as by early January the Pats know what they have in front of them. Look for Lawrence to have a big outing and for him to be able to attack Bill Belichick’s defense on the road and possibly pull out a big upset.
