Having discussed his contract earlier today with reporters in Florham Park, Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers left out any details of the pact but now we’ve got them, and it’s simply astonishing.

The former Packer is leaving a whopping $35 million on the table to remain a Jet on a 2-year $75 million deal with an option for a third season.
And to be clear, this isn’t Rodgers moving money around which is what we tend to see veteran players do, but a flat out $35 million pay cut. If anyone needed any further evidence of Rodgers’ willingness to do what it takes to win with the Jets, this was it.
When Joe Douglas traded for Rodgers, he was taking on one of the worst contracts in NFL history. Now that deal looks a whole lot better with the dust having settled.
