Chicago Bears safety Coby Bryant has openly expressed admiration for quarterback Caleb Williams since joining the team this offseason.
The veteran safety signed a three-year, $40 million contract to join Chicago. He spent his first four NFL seasons with the Seattle Seahawks and helped the franchise win Super Bowl LX.
During a March appearance on the “Up & Adams Show,” Bryant discussed his move from Seattle. He said leaving the Seahawks was difficult because of the success and relationships built there.
However, the 27-year-old defensive back revealed that Chicago became an attractive destination because of Williams. Bryant admitted that the young quarterback’s exceptional talent and leadership skills influenced his decision to join the Bears.

The post quickly attracted reactions from fans and teammates. Bryant joined the conversation by posting a “🐐” in the comments section. The goat emoji is commonly used to describe someone as the greatest of all time.
The bold declaration reflected Bryant’s belief that Williams has legendary potential.
The 24-year-old quarterback was the first person to contact Bryant after he signed with the Bears. According to Bryant, they exchanged messages and discussed their vision for the team’s future.
For the veteran defensive back, that outreach carried significant meaning. Bryant said it helped him feel welcomed and appreciated from the start. He noted that leadership qualities like those are rare for a player at such a young age.
The Bears transformed from one of the NFL’s worst teams into a division champion in 2025. After finishing 5‑12 the previous season, Chicago posted an 11-6 record. The team also won the NFC North and claimed its first playoff victory in 15 years.
Williams played a major role in the turnaround by leading Chicago’s young offense. He helped transform the unit into one of the league’s most improved.
