Stephanie White singles out Fever guard’s attitude after team development
Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White did not have the services of Caitlin Clark on Saturday as they faced the Los Angeles Sparks at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.
Clark was ruled out of the game due to a back injury, forcing her to sit out her second game of the WNBA season. The two-time All-Star suffered the injury in Wednesday’s 111-109 loss to the Phoenix Mercury. She was ruled out of the contest in the third quarter after tweaking her back earlier in the game.
Kelsey Mitchell led the way for Indiana with Clark sidelined. The All-WNBA guard went off for a game-high 26 points on 9-of-13 shooting to lead the Fever to their second win in three games.

It wasn’t just Mitchell who stepped up amid Clark’s injury absence. It was a concerted effort from the entire team as they came together to fill the void.
Second-year guard Bree Hall made her season debut for the Fever on Saturday. The 6-foot-1 guard is currently on a Developmental Contract with the team, which means the Fever can activate her for only 12 regular-season games.
It was Hall’s birthday on Saturday, and the team gifted her with an opportunity to get some quality minutes. The former South Carolina standout responded with five points, two rebounds and a steal in 10 minutes of action. Hall also knocked down a three-pointer that drew a hyped reaction from the entire squad.

Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White praises Bree Hall
After the game, Coach White sounded off on Hall’s impactful performance in her first game of the season. The Fever bench boss highlighted the 23-year-old’s attitude amid recent developments within the team that led to Hall’s debut.
“Yeah, I mean, first and foremost, I think not just the way she’s developed over the last month, but she came back this year a different player,” White said of Hall during the postgame press conference. “A different sense of urgency, a different understanding of what it means to be a pro. A different work style and work ethic. Much more locked in.
“As a rookie, sometimes you’re happy to be here, and you don’t really know what to expect, and everything’s new. And she worked really hard in the offseason and has this opportunity now in our development spot.
Hall isn’t exactly a key player for the Fever, but she has remained ready. White has recognized this, and she’s given the young guard her flowers.
“She’s been really good in practice, and she’s been really good in her workouts. And I’m happy that she got an opportunity to come out and to get some experience,” White continued.
“Her energy was really good for us. She brings something that we don’t have in terms of her length on the wing, and I’m glad she was able to get out there tonight.”
The Fever have not confirmed if Clark will be able to return for their next game, which is on Sunday against the Las Vegas Aces. If the former Rookie of the Year remains sidelined, Hall could get another opportunity to prove her worth.
